JP Olukemi vs. Cameron Clark.. Did OSU get the right guy?

Averaging 2 more points per game and getting off to a 22/11 start against a conference opponent for a 13-2 team is A LOT better than averaging 9 ppg for one of the worst BCS conference teams in the nation.

Well then again, JP has a lot more help around him to take the pressure off. CC doesn't.

Is this another Cameron Clark is a bust thread (I dont think you started the first but the subject matter seems really similar)?

Actually that thread was me, lol.. I didn't say he was a bust though, I asked the board if he has met expectations thus far.

Exactly. It's like criticizing MU, ksu or ku for not offering Alec Burks. He was just not the same player (or person) then that he is now. No coach can see the future.

ksu offered burks at about the same time as cu. don't lump my coach in with yours.

martin actually talked very briefly about scouting/recruiting burks in today's big 12 teleconference.

Obligatory knee jerk reaction post as the pendulum swings the other way in favor of Cameron.

16 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals on the road vs a NCAA tournament team.

I hope I'm wrong but I think he will struggle at Texas though.

and i will add to it with a great game by JP .. with 1point 4 boards 2 TO's

Note(s) to self:

One game sample size = bad.
and
Let things play out = good.

Both will be quite good. But I think we learned why Ford has been harping about JP's consistancy.

If you were to tell me who was going to be more consistent heading into the season, I would have said JP. Its not shocking... When you are asked to predict which of the two guys that aren't far-off when comparing their talents would be more consistent, usually the one that is older and has played against better competition wins.

So given each player's situation, seeing more consistency out of JP at this point in time isn't shocking. It was expected IMO.

Cameron is avg 13 and 5 over his last 8 games. Id say hes doing fine as a freshman. It just took him a bit to get his legs.

OU needs Cam to average 10+ in conference play. If he, Pledger and Fitzgerald can all do that, perhaps OU will have a respectable team next year. Blair is going to be a much better pg after a year of experience, I would almost bet my house on that.

If Goff and Osby can play at a Big XII starter level, OU might be a top 6 team next season. The key is OU needs someone that can create his own shot and carry the team during tough stretches. I will reserve judgment but I am getting a bit more optimistic about next season.
