Karron Johnson officially a no go

The dude has been to 5 schools, and he is just now in JUCO?:facepalm

I would stay away from him.

Looks like OSU is going to struggle next year as well. They will have only 2 post players...Shaw and Cobbins.

I wouldnt count Out D Williams coming back yet. I also hear they are recruiting Jurick pretty hard as well. It would rally tick me off if they ended up with cezar and jurick after we have been recruiting them for so long. I dont know who else they are recruiting?

I think they lead on a kid from Kentrucky named Tony Kimbro jr. His dad played at UL. If Capel doesnt get Jurick or Guerrero, he is done. On the other hand, if osu were to get Richardson or Raney I would be pissed.

I agree if Capel doest land an impact player for next year that OU needs to rebuild with a fresh start we will be better next year, however I do not believe we have quite what it takes to be a tourny team with the current players. It should be interesting to see what next years rosters for OU and OSU look like.

They sent someone to watch Richardson the other day. No clue if that offer from two years ago still stands on Raney.

If I was a betting man, this is how I think it will turn out:

Penn leaves.

Sign another point guard, either hs or Juco. Maybe Guerrero (Bob Gottlieb said OSU is in good shape with him?) or a JUCO like Sam Grooms...although that will be a tough get.

Sign a JUCO big man. Heard they are on one from Chipola...strictly a rebounding/defense kind of guy. Anthony Brown level player. But, necessary with the lack of depth.

If Penn leaves, that would fill up the class. But, I wouldn't be surprised if Ford tries signing the best outside shooter he can find. There is also a rumor that Gulley's career might be over. His shoulder injury is THAT serious. That it's unfixable. Which would get him put on a medical scholarship, and free up another one.

If we lose out on Cezar to OSU im done with Capel. For crying out loud they have page, penn, dowell, gulley, and Brown. If capel cannot convince him to come here and start than we need to get someone who can better evaluate talent and get them here..

Why would Penn leave? I haven't paid attention to OSU much this year, but that's the first I've heard about him potentially leaving.

Dude is deep in the doghouse, from what I've heard. Been totally uneffective this year, and the 'rumor' is that him and Ford don't get along very well. I mean Dowell got off the bench before him the last couple of games. I know Dowell was awesome against A&M, but still says a lot about Penn.

Just my guess at what will happen though. I think a point guard is going to go, be it him or Dowell. Or maybe Gulley might get transfered to a medical scholarship because his career might be done.

grooms is gettimg looks from unc now. i also heard Nash was promised pg. I suspecr he'll play the James Andersom rovee forward.

If OSU got Guerrero I would be shocked..

Why would Cezar choose to go to OSU where he has 1 potential post player to throw too...instead of coming here and having several to throw too. He could come here and get immediate playing time instead of fighting for playing time with Page, Dowell, Gulley, and Penn.

So if he chooses to go there...then good luck to him.

I bet Ford ends up with a decent option in the post- they won't roll out just Shaw and Cobbins. He'll sign a late bloomer in the Spring or a prep/juco will materialize.

It's a guarantee that he'll sign at least one post. Depending on what happens with D. Williams at his trial in March, he might sign two.

Surely Williams is done at OSU. Even if he is not convicted it is in everyone's best interest that he get a fresh start somewhere else.
