It's one thing if you're a legend, like Gasso, and you hire your son away from Michigan State. Or if you're hiring somebody like Mike Stoops, who was a HC at Arizona, and is being offered the same job by Urban Meyer.
It's an entirely different story when you're hiring somebody whose only experience is at Northern Arizona.
Stoops and Gasso earned the spots they're in, regardless of whether or not it worked out. Kruger unequivocally did not. He was not getting similar job offers before he came here, and he won't be anytime soon.
It's more egregious if the individual is not qualified, but it is still an absolutely massive problem even if they are the most qualified individual in the world. It is not appropriate for a family member to be evaluating another family member professionally, because they will never be able to do so objectively. There is a reason that anti-nepotism policies exist in most successful organizations.
