Kris Martin — the guard who announced his commitment to Oklahoma on Tuesday night — doesn’t actually have an offer, sources confirmed to the Tulsa World.

At the end of the day it's not a big deal, since Khris isn't a big time recruit. But it is slightly alarming at the level of miscommunication going on with the coaching staff. A kid thinks he has an offer, tweets about committing, an assistant coach RTs and now there was no offer to begin with.
 
the 2nd half of the season to now...just seems like a giant CF...:facepalm
 
If he doesn't end up at OU that's not gonna be a good look.

So even though no one knows exactly what happened, we are 100% sure that Lon and the staff are to blame . . . and we are confident that there are overall "communication problems" with the staff? Man, it's amazing these guys even manage to get out of bed in the morning, given how incompetent they are according to many of you.

I mean i think it's pretty apparent that there is a communication problem here, no? It could be the kid, could be the coaches idk. But it's apparent there is a communication problem here and even if the kid solely caused it, there is still blame on the coaching staff to allow it to occur imo. Although, there is also not a whole lot to do about policing Twitter for fake offers too.. so idk

Kris Martin has been recruited by ORU, Colorado State, and probably 25 other schools. You have to assume he knows when he has been offered a scholarship by a school.

Not only that, but his "commitment" was retweeted by an OU assistant coach.

To me, that means the offer was made, likely before the OU staff had done their due diligence on his eligibility.

Come on, Wichita. Martin’s tweet was retweeted on at least two OU Twitter pages, one of them an assistant coach. I saw it on the coach’s page with my own eyes. It’s gone now. It’s obvious there was a communication problem. I just don’t see how anyone can say Kris Martin didn’t know if he had a legitimate OU offer.

Lon and his staff can spin this anyway they want. It still looks bad, and it downright stinks for a kid who thought he would be playing at OU next season.
