Momentum is the key. All this hashing the Lloyd Noble venue and the Thunder are a roadblock and general apathy all have their merits. If Kruger can get some momentum as fast as it left the faster it will return. Big victories over Kansas and Texas will solve it.

Count me as one who thinks Lon is at least at minimum of all the candidates that were possibly attainable as good as anybody. He will need some luck. Tubbs would never have snagged Tisdale had he not hired his high school coach Mike Mimms and by making the NCAA tourney in 1983 in Waymon's senior year in high school.

Sampson made the NCAA tornament his first year in 1995 after Tubbs had missed for a few years. Some luck and momentum will make Lloyd Noble rock again.

Tubbs had missed the NCAA tourney two years in a row when Sampson took over.

Tubbs didn't take OU to the NCAA tourney until Wayman's frosh year when we beat UAB and lost to Indiana with Uwe Blob.

The year before Wayman came we made it to the NIT final 4, which was impressive at the time because the tourney only took 32 teams that year, if I remember correctly.

You are right Billy made it Waymon's first year but here again no Waymon no tourney maybe? Kruger needs a break or some momentum.

It's no secret that the best Oklahoma teams save 2002, had a superstar from Oklahoma (85 -- Wayman, 88 -- King, 2008 -- BG).

He's got to be able to land the big time Oklahoma stud when the stud is available and I think he can.

So does our great state have such a stud? One that is available in the next class or two?
