Big Monday @ OSU.

If KSU wins out they will have the 2nd seed in the Big 12 tourney. If KSU loses OU will get 2nd seed if we win out.

KSU closes at home against Baylor.
OSU closes at ISU.

I'm pretty positive that if OU wins out, they will be the 2 seed in the conference tourney.

If Texas isn't part of a 2nd place tie, the nod would go to KSU (obviously assuming they are a part of it) due to their win vs. KU.

If OU wins out they will be no worse than the 3 seed.

If OU and KSU win out, they will have the same record (12-6) and head to head would be 1-1. The tiebreaker then goes to record vs. Kansas. OU (0-2) Kstate (1-1), therefored KSU would be the 2 seed and OU the 3 seed.

I do think KSU will lose to OSU on Big Monday, making the 2 seed OU's to lose.

But if Texas wins out, which they should, it would be a 3 way tie leading to us being the 2 seed based upon our sweep of Texas. In my estimation, if OU wins out they will be tied with Texas and whoever else, which gives us the 2 seed.

Right. This game between OSU and KSU is the only other game that determines our seed if we win out. We have the first tie breaker against Texas since we swept them and even though they did beat KU once. The fact that we beat Texas twice would also break the tie in our favor against ISU.

Agreed. If OSU can beat KU at home, they can certainly beat K-State.

As much as I hate to say it, I'll be pulling for the Pokes in Monday's game. This is one time I can't allow my feelings about our instate rival to get in the way of a win that would help OU.

Go KSU, lol. Want to make sure the Ags don't make the tourney with the Flopper, lol

As long as OU can get a 2 or 3 seed in the big 12 tourney than thats all that matters.

True. But second is always better than third, plus it should give us a more favorable draw in the B-12 tourney. It could also influence the NCAA selection committee's seeding.

As Bruin stated, KSU is horrible on the road. OSU should handle them. We should be looking at the 2 seed if we can win out. It is all up to us.

I agree but I just want to be on the opposite side of Kansas. We've beat every team in the big 12 besides them so if we can just meet them in the championship that will be fine with me.

KSU is bad bad bad on the road. I think OSU wins it.

I don't disagree -- I expect oswho to win (especially if they get officiating as friendly as yesterday's). I was just bemoaning KU's ridiculously poor outing.

My expectations off the cuff:

OU: Win vs WVU, win at TCU / finish 12-6
ISU: Win at BU, win vs OSU / finish 12-6
UT: Win vs TCU, win @ tech / finish 12-6
KSU: Loss at OSU, win vs BU / finish 11-7

The best thing for us is to win out, and hope ISU loses in Waco or vs OSU. I don't know who wins the 3-way tie if it's OU-UT-ISU, and I'd rather not have to find out.

We would be tied for 2nd based on record either way. I doubt our NCAA seed would be influenced by a Big 12 tiebreaker. There is also a decent chance that we would have an easier draw as the 3 seed anyway.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think the #2 and the #3 seeds will be on the opposite side of the bracket from the #1 seeded KU. If that is not the case, I definitely see your point.

It's clear that you have spent more time in studying the bracket than me. I rarely even consider the Big 12 tourney seeding until the bracket comes out. The way I figure it, there's not much I can do to affect it anyway. lol

I'm curious, though. How would OU get an easier draw as the #3 seed? I'm with you on the NCAA tourney seeding. I threw that in as a possibility, thinking the committee might look at OU more favorably if we finished as the #2 seed in the toughest conference in the country.

It's still kind of hard to say how it might shake out, but osu could be the 6, 7, or 8 seed. I think Baylor or West Virginia would be an easier draw. If those 3 teams finish in a tie Baylor would be 6, Osu 7, and WV 8.
