How about that possession where Khadeem got the team 3 separate offensive chances with pure effort! That was ala Johnnie Gilbert.

I havent been enthusiastic about his contributions so far this year but he has moments. We just need for them to run together.

Kid has a ton of talent.. Just need the game to continue to slow down for him a little.

To compete against the top level teams you need bigs with size and athleticism - Lattin and Manyang give us that so we just have to hope they continue to grow as players.

Khadeem doesn't always get the credit he deserves when you look at the stat sheet after a game. His effort to keep the possessions you described alive are good examples of that.

He also did a great job in keeping a bigger, stronger, Daniel Ochefu in check, by working his tail off to deny the ball and keep him off of the offensive glass. No one else was nearly as effective in doing that as Khadeem Lattin.

Ive thought hes played a lot better recently. The first couple of games from him were bad. Hes been a solid contributor and does what we need him to do.

All of this and he hit a jump shot. He adds a 15' consistent jumper to his game and he will be a handful. He is very instinctive and gets his hands on the ball a bunch - rebounds, dribbles, passes - he touches the ball a great deal. Would LOVE to see him on the head of a 1-2-2 press either in the half or full court. Wonder if that's in LK's arsenal for later in the year?

He had a 2 minute stretch with 3 defensive lapses and I was worried about him for the rest of the game. Then he settled in and played really well for the rest of the game. Pretty impressive considering this was definitely one of the harder match-ups he's seen so far.

There were several layups made on OU. Hopefully all of the younger guys can learn better defensive position / help and how to play pick and roll D

We have the potential to be much better on D

Very true. Of the 3 centers, I think Lattin is the best man-to-man defender. He's also the best rebounder and the most physical. I also think he deserves to be the starter based on how all 3 players are currently playing.

Manyang is out of position a lot. I think he has missed so much time, he doesn't know what to do in some situations. He might have the most near-term potential of the 3 if he puts it all together, so he needs to continue to get minutes.

McNeace is very athletic but he is getting bullied inside. He needs to play stronger. He's still learning how to play but has almost unlimited long-term potential, so he needs to keep getting some minutes.

They need for at least 2 of these guys to emerge so that they trust them to play in Big 12 games. I think the staff will continue to use games in December to determine when, if, and how much to play these 3 guys. Lattin will be in the final mix. I think they're trying to determine how much the other 2 guys will play. JMHO.

I agree with this.

I like the kid a lot. I think he is really athletic and plays with a lot of energy. I am hoping he can be a double digit scorer next season.

Aside from maybe the Memphis game, I've been SO pleased with Lattin. He doesn't need to score. The other 4 starters are capable of getting 20 every single night. If he continues to be our best post defender, grab 7-8 boards, get a block or two, energize his teammates, and have 4-6 points on putbacks, that's MORE than suitable as our 5th best offensive starter. That 12' jumper he hit last night was gravy.

I like this kid. He fits in good with the other starters. He's a sophmore with time to grow. I bet he contributes a lot more by the end of the season.

Well Lon keeps telling anyone who will listen that he is offensively talented. I just wish that if that is the case, they run something through him every once in awhile. Might take some pressure off the other guys.
