So, I have been reading that this guy is interested in OU. Any thoughts from Sam, Will or anyone who else? Here is the article from 247Sports (Must be an insider)

I wanna hope that Buddy Hield & our 2014 prospect Jacob Hammond will hopefully give us an advantage. BTW there are some nice things about Jacob Hammond in this article as well.

Here's some highlights:

Wow! This kid has it all: speed, quickness, sweet stroke from the perimeter, killer crossover move, great handles. Everything you could ask for in a point guard. That spin move down the lane was fun to watch.

Coach Kruger and his staff have developed a nice relationship with Sunrise Christian and the head coach there. Both have similar recruiting philosophies. Bring in the best player you can find who is also a good person.

Buddy last year, Jacob in 2014 and Tum Tum in 2015. I like the sound of that. If the Sunrise pipeline expands to include another player or two in the process, I like that even better.

Not exactly someone we need.

We already have Cousins, Hornbeak, and Woodard who will be manning the point the next 3-4 years.

I'd like us to go after some pure-scoring wings.

Wings with size if possible, I'd like to see us sign a few more 6'6, 6'7 guys who can play multiple positions, like Cam Clark.

I agree with Ada here, hard to turn down those skills.

This kid is still a high school junior.
I don't think taking a PG every year is a bad idea.

Hornbeak and Cousins are not point guards. They're combo guards who played the point some their senior years in high school, and then brought that experience to OU this season. Woodard will be the only true point guard on our roster this fall.

When Cousins and Hornbeak had problems with the press and turnovers this season, we had Sam Grooms to fall back on. We can only hope that Woodard stays healthy next season, because Sam won't be around to bail us out.

But, putting all of that aside, anytime you can bring in a point guard as good as Tum Tum Narin, you do it and not think twice about it. Harris in 2014 and Narin in 2015 will be a very good thing!

Looks like I was editing just as you were replying. I blame Ada.

That's what you get for not checking my math. :ez-laugh:

I even repeated myself in my next post. That doesn't change the point we were trying to make. It's never a good idea to go into a season with only one point guard on the roster. If the guy you're relying on goes down with an injury or can't get the job done, you could be in trouble. I'm glad we had Grooms this year!

Agreed.

How can anyone write a profile of a little-known player (to most fans, at this point in his career) named Lourawls "Tum Tum" Narin, and not provide a little info about his name? Were his parents big fans of the singer Lou Rawls (surely they were)? How did he come to be called Tum Tum?
