LSU's Trent Johnson to TCU

Wasn't there a recruit we were battling LSU for? A juco?

Yeah I would like to get Coleman. But what in the world is going on with these coaching moves? TCU to Ohio??? LSU to TCU??? Didn't Trent have a solid class coming in?

Johnsonson is 1 or 2 years away from getting fired at LSU unless he turned it around

Yep. He was going to be fired anyway (short of a great year).

SMU is still open. I wonder who they are going to hire.
Supposedly they are willing to pay 2+million?

This is about as home run as it gets for TCU.

Now am I wrong about this, but not only did he go from LSU to TCU, but didn't he initially start at Stanford? Maybe he was just an assistant there, couldn't quite remember.

He was the head coach at Stanford and did a good job there.
If you've ever been to Palo Alto you'd think the guy was nuts to go to LSU.

Chased money at LSU, now chasing job security at TCU.

He did well at Nevada and Stanford in his two pre-LSU head coaching jobs (left both schools in better shape than when he got there). He's done the opposite at LSU, but I could see him doing reasonably well at TCU. Expectations will be low, but with Big 12 resources they will have more to work with than they ever have before. And if he fails? It's TCU. I doubt they really even care.

WAC coach of the year
PAC 10 coach of the year
SEC coach of the year.

Ya, I would say TCU made a good hire.
