Product of a young team. Understandable for a couple games. But every game it seems like they show flashes of really good ball and then some high school-ish plays. Another game they could've, or should have, won. Hopefully they're due for all these wins in KC.

I think they are proving to be capable- may take a bit longer to actually start doing it

Eh we are what we are this point - focus needs to be on Doolittle and Mcgusty improving for next year's squad.

I'm not as upset about blowing an early first half lead as I am about our inability to draw up decent plays late in games to finish teams off. Way too many empty offensive possession late in the game. Might as well have dribbled the shot clock down to 3 seconds and pulled up from NBA range.

That class is our future! Give Shep and Freeman additional run.

Once you get over the fact that we most likely won't be in postseason play it's not hard to enjoy the way this team has played the last 4 games. The best move Lon made was benching James and letting these kids run with the ball.

Woodard just played really bad down the last 2 minutes of regulation and both overtimes.
Hard to win at the end of games when you have to depends on all underclassman .
Not to mention lattin is as basically an idiot for most of game .

Is it me or are these two the smoothest looking freshman at OU since Blake? They're balling out for freshman

We'be played one of the toughest schedules in the country...and they are playing great. They're a great core.

Most of the season might be more accurate. Lowest BBIQ in OU history.

Did anyone notice in the TTech game he did that embarrassing delayed flop thing, that he did at Wisconsin, again? Why can't someone tell him how incredibly childish, stupid, and embarrassing that looks? Does he think that's cool? Sheesh.

Agree. Seemed as if every late possession wound up with us dribbling to the center of a crowded lane, surrounded by three people and attempting to pass to someone five feet away. Iowa State is alright on defense, but we made ourselves easy to defend. Our youngsters need to grow, but I'd liked to have seen some strategic intervention from Lon when this happened possession after possession, without fail.
The future is bright with players like McGusty & Doolittle who are extremely promising. I really like McNeace too. Lon will continue to build and add pieces. We're taking out lumps now, but we'll be passing them out very soon.

I would be shocked if Doolittle doesn't average a double double starting his junior year (probably even sophomore year). His shooting mechanics are some of the best I have seen from a freshman and paired with his size his rebounding ability is great. If I were to predict anyone to have a great chance to go to the next level it would be him. Really excited to see him grow along with Mcgusty, Odomes and James. Lets not count James out to quickly, It wasn't long ago when he was was shooting well for a sophomore. Players can tend to go through shooting slumps that are usually due to confidence. Do you all remember when cousins went through his last year? He will pull out of it. He may not regain full confidence until next year, but I have faith that he will.

Sophomore slump is a term for a reason. James will recover, might not be this year tho

I wish Odomes could shoot some 3s. Then we'd have 3 great young pieces in odomes, mcgusty and doolittle

I agree on the point with Odomes. They must be redoing his shooting mechanics and therefore he doesn't have a ton of confidence yet. By next year, there is a great chance he will be the best player on our team. When he gains the confidence in his shooting motion, defenders will have to guard him one step closer and we all know what happens when defenders get to close to him.
