so a lot closer than you think

I believe the stats & metric are close but I think since conference Doolittle has been our best player easily with Manek probably being 2nd. I'm not the one saying Manek wouldn't start for any other OU team (because he definitely would), I'm just saying Doolittle has been better.

for curiosity if he shouldn't start who should ????

I would say Doolittle should start at the 4 and Manek should be the Back up 4, but it's close. But since we don't have a better option at the 5 with McNease hurt they both need to start right now. That's not a meant to be a knock at Manek, I just think right now Doo is the best player on the team and when the both play the same position that happens.

Agreed.

And I'd add that neither Doolittle nor Manek belong at the 3 spot.

the reality is that while the "feeling" is that doo has been the best player in conf play some of the adv stats say that Manek has been the best player in conf play ..

either way they are absolutlely the 2 best players on the team and should play the most min and take the most shots

The "3" spot barely exists in college basketball... Just 3 guards, and two taller guys to defend, rebound, score, etc. Even at the Big 12 level you can get away with skilled 6'6'' or 6'7'' guys in the paint. They need to be tough, skilled, or tough and skilled...

This i agree with, I just wish our two best players didn't play the same position. when that happens you either have to sit one or play one out of position.

I'd like to see Manek and Doo start next year as well, which is guaranteed IMO. Then have some big guys behind them. Kuath, Ugboh/Likayi, and Polla off the bench. So if we run into a team with size we can deal with it, but Manek/Doo should be the starters.

I think the starting lineup will be

PG - Harmon
G - Bieniemy
G - Reeves
F - Manek
F - Doolittle

That's my point, it really needs to be a "guard", and Manek and Doo are certainly not that. At best they are stretch 4's.

I'm not 100% sold here. It would not surprise me to see Bieniemy as 6th man next year. Not sure who the 5th starter would be, but I could see Bieniemy coming off the bench if Harmon is as advertised. Or Harmon coming off the bench if Bieniemy takes a good step forward.

G - Reeves
G - ???
F - Manek
