This is good for OU right?!?

By the way did anyone else see the Maryland kid shove the Wisconsin players head into the ground.. Just got a T no ejection.. Unreal!

Might drop a few spots, but not as bad if both of these teams lose.

That Grayson Allen shot at the end to win for Duke over UVA was amazing, but it came after he took 3-4 (depending on when you start counting) steps...his last step actually came with his right foot in the lane just before he let the ball go.

It was a travel for sure! I was kind of happy though and it should of never got to that point if he made some free throws.. I for some reason don't like that guy.

If we are going to be realistic, OU is likely to lose two more games before the end of the season. If OU is to be a #1 seed, we are going to have to take care of business (as much as possible) from here on out. It certainly won't hurt our chances if the following teams below lose as often as possible either:
  • Xavier
  • Iowa
  • North Carolina
  • Virginia
  • Maryland (though right now, Maryland's resume is a #3/#4 seed, so they really aren't a threat....but they are talented as hell)
As of now, OU's resume is clearly better than the above teams, but IMO, OU needs to finish no worse than tied for 2nd in the Big 12.

Coming into today, Maryland was #2 in both polls and Lunardi had them as a #1 seed. Even after the bad loss at home to Wisconsin tonight, they are still a threat for a #1 seed.

I want a 1 but I can live with a 2.. Just don't drop to a 3 please.

This is a common myth. Polls have absolutely NOTHING to do with seeding in the NCAA tournaments. The committee, by and large, uses analytics and metrics and a little bit of the "eye test"..... but never polls. Here is Maryland's resume:
They have 3 top 50 wins (2 home/1 neutral)
Their best non con win is Princeton (#55)
They have no bad losses.
They played a poor non-conference schedule (inflated their record) and lost to the only really good team they played (North Carolina).

They are a likely a 3 seed if the tournament started today. There are literally 9-10 teams that have better resumes than Maryland as of now.

I might argue that losing to by 13 to Wisconsin at home is as bad as losing to KSU by 11 in Manhattan.

Sky, to be candid, neither loss is a "bad loss" at all....at least by RPI standards. Wisconsin will be inside the top 50 of the RPI tomorrow....which is also good for us (another top 50 rpi win). KSU's RPI was 52 as of today, but they will be falling after losing to the pokes.

Works for me.

Can they not review a travel at the end of a game? That was bad. He took three steps AND landed before the ball was out of his hand

Guys, this thing is so wide open it's almost crazy.

Nova will hold the #1 spot for another weak but everyone knows they are not the top team. BigE is not that strong so that helps them.

ISU took care of business and Baylor laid an egg..Big12 is nuts at this point.

I'm like everyone else, I really wanted to beat KU today. We are the better team and this was a chance but we just didn't get it done. Not out of it yet.

We have to key road games left @ WVU @ TX that we need to find a way to win. I'd say the WVU is more important now since they are in 1st with KU.

I want that #1 seed badly because I feel like we are a #1 seed team but we need to get it figured out. One thing is certain, teams are guarding us differently. Cover up Buddy as much as possible, our post game is none existent so go ahead and beat us with Woodard & Cousins...neither of which can seem to get hot at the same time. Very frustrating.

I'll echo other thoughts is numerous posts/thread tonight. Our front-court HAS to improve. No team can survive on the 3, we must get a low post game going, and our guards need to DRIVE TO THE HOOP.

These things open up our offense and we become unstoppable.

Our Def has to improve as well. I noticed several times were guys were just walking and running to their spots, leaving KU players wide open. Must clean that up.

I still have a ton of confidence in this team.

I think it's likely that we don't drop at all this week. #2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8 & 10 all lost.

1) Nova
2) KU
3) OU
4) UNC

That's my prediction for Monday's poll. It's a crazy year, folks.

Good point. I did a quick check...it's amazing how many loses are in the Top25. Only 4 teams in the AP that have actually not lost a game over the past 2 weeks.

I understand that about the polls...only included those for reference. I should've placed more emphasis on Lunardi, as he's pretty good at what he does.

It's interesting because listening to Joe C talk about it yesterday - if all is about equal they would look head to head and remember OU beat Nova like a drum on a neutral court.

This year really is insane. Duke was unranked last week, and could very realistically end up a 1 seed in the tournament.
