Lets try taking one of their transfers again. John riek.....he was an nba prospect out of hs. hes huge but raw

is he a headcase? not willing to work? too arrogant? does he have family that lives far away?
if not i vote maybe, i just hate waiting that year for the transfer to get eligible.. id rather take some high school kids and let Kruger do his work on them with a full 4 years.

I agree. Osby? Who needs him? Certainly not this squad. M'baye? I hope he never sees the court. Talented transfers are the worst. When have they ever helped a program?

I don't think that's what austin is trying to say. Just because Osby and (hopefully) M'Baye worked out doesn't mean we should start taking transfers willy nilly.

If you think about transfers to OU over the years, I think most have worked out fairly well. Jabari Brown was a transfer and worked out really well. Osby seems to be working out well. Ryan Wright was a repsectable contributor. M'Baye is reportedly going to work out well.

Ray Carruth is about the only transfer I can think of that did not work out well. There are probably some others I am not recalling.

Note I am not including juco transfers in this group but for the most part those guys have worked out pretty well too.

I trust Kruger and Co to determine interest and whether or not he would fit in the program. That's his job!

Other non-juco transfers that worked out well:

Brent Price
David Little
Nate Erdmann - (semi Juco since he followed Kelvin)
Nate Carter
Steve Bajema

I apologize that your comment was ludicrous and I you were sensitive to my satiric form of criticism. But your reply was brimming with unmatched wit and originality. I tip my hat to your sharp tongue and incredible vernacular.

I talked to George Dohrmann- author of Playing Their Hearts Out- must for basketball fans about the Southern California AAU circuit. He made a statement about transfers that is common sense but one that gets little attention. Most of these kids come to college thinking they are better than they are. They get unhappy because their coach is an idiot and doesn't realize how great they are.

By the time they arrive at their transfer school, they have pretty much burned the ships. Nowhere else to go really. So they make it work. The lack of an option to transfer again is usually a good thing for both parties.
