Mulkey. Enjoy!!!

Please ignore syb on this topic. He has already been busted when he proclaimed that he would welcome Kelvin back when posting on the men's board awhile back.

How about we quit complaining about Mulkey and control the things we can control? Well...that the OU staff and team can control. The only thing worse than blaming Mulkey for everything is blaming refs... ADJUST! Adjust your play in the game and adjust your recruiting. Get more academically eligible, skilled, talented players.

EDIT
And if they happen to be of the lesbian/gay community....ok. Not my kinda' party, but it doesn't need to be my kind. Guess what? I'm not their kinda' party either. Furthermore...it will not be the first L/G student athlete to suit up at OU. It beats the type that chants using the "N" word!

I'm not exactly sure, but I'm beginning to believe Syb hates Mulkey so much because she did kick him out of the sack once for not matching her intensity.

Never believed the rumors until now. Maybe.

Just a bit of fun guys and gals.

Nothing gets Syb riled up faster than a Mulkey comment or someone questioning Maddie.

And, so. It is your theory that I like Muffit and Geno because they didn't kick me out of the sack?

Are you sure you didn't leave out a few things about Switzer?

Oh, maybe you are referring to the other "serious" violation - although it had nothing to do with Barry. The Phillips University long time fan/booster who took a Phillips basketball player out to get a hamburger at a fast food place in Enid (something he was apparently known to do for Phillips players) and somehow the NCAA deemed it a major OU violation because the kid had a relative who was being recruited as a football player at many D1 schools and the Phillips gentleman had season tickets to OU football.

It was the fact that after an extensive (2 years if I recall) investigation. those were the kinds of violations they had to use to penalize his team. It seemed to many to be more about NCAA politics than anything else.

They certainly did not accuse him of using a summer league team to spend extensive hours with the families of players he was recruiting - in clear violation of NCAA rules.

Nope, there's more.

This board is so bizarre. There are more Mulkey fans here than on HoopScoop, a board that supposedly includes fans from all Big XII schools. That might be because most of the Baylor fans left when they figured out that the majority of the people on that board thought that Mulkey was a good coach but completely lacking in class and integrity. Imagine that.....

Enjoy? I didn't. And I'd never watch OU women's basketball again if we had a coach who acted like that, even if she won.

Hey! Those who think Coach Coale knows more about basketball that the posters on this board are accused of being "Sunshine pumpers" and "drinking the Kool-Aid". Obviously there are some who are "Green Fog pumpers" and "drinking the lime-aid". :ez-laugh:

Mulkey is a better coach than Sherri! No question better coach, better recruiter, NO question. Better Person? That is a different question up for debate.
I don't know either one of them, but I agree she better than Sherri in coaching duties.

No one denies shes a good coach and recruiter. Her grade for those duties would be an A. But part of the responsibilities of a D1 coach is to act as a representative of the university. Her demeanor on the sidelines, her temper tantrums in post game press conferences, her attitude when someone other than her player wins post season honors earn her a solid D, if not an F. It's obvious that some people don't care about that. Their attitude seems to be 'win at any cost!' As for me, there are lots of coaches as good as her that don't come with her baggage. Some day, she is going to implode and it won't be pretty.

You got that right! I just wish they'd go play on the Hypocrite U boards instead of here! :ez-roll:

It's an epic F! NO ONE is women's D1 basketball is even close, that I've seen!

Everything else aside, she IS more out of control than anyone since Bobby Knight.

Of course, her behavior is magnified to the extreme when she regularly has to share the court with the likes of Sherri, Tara Vandaveer, Muffin McGraw, Aston and a bunch of other coaches who haven't gone absolutely bat-*** crazy or come even close to it.

I will agree she may be a fairly good coach. Better than Sherri? Probably not.

Think about the evidence. When she had weaker players she always lost to Sherri.

Many on this board now claim she has vastly better players. In fact I think it was stated that only a couple of OU's players could even make her team - even the bench. Assuming that is true (I'm not taking that position) she should NEVER have lost to Sherri this year. No way she loses with dramatically better players and is a better coach. Maybe not even close.

I agree Tango.

At the time of the NCAA penalties, it was suggested by some that it appeared possible Mulkey had actual funded the summer league team and manipulated things to get her daughter on it. Whether or not that part is true, she certainly used that scenario so she could "sit with the parents of the other players" and recruit their kids. It has been reported, and is "interesting" that that entire team disbanded once she had signed it's members.

How much fail can be crammed into one post? A lot, obviously.

Please show me one -- just one -- scrap of evidence which shows that any AAU program has ever been bankrolled by Kim Mulkey. I have followed Mulkey's program at Baylor from the very beginning and I have never even heard of this accusation before.

Can you please explain exactly how did Mulkey "manipulate" an AAU program into taking her daughter? What does that even mean? Does it mean that Makenzie Robertson was such a terrible player that Kim had to force her daughter onto the program? Laughable. Makenzie was much better than most of their players. The vast majority of them never even play D1 college basketball. During her high school career McKenzie was a multi-sport athlete who won Texas state championships in basketball, softball, and volleyball. In basketball she was a 4 year varsity starter who once hit 9 three pointers in the same game. She won all district, all region, and all state honors. She was the winningest player in the entire history of their program. In college she started for a full season on a team which advanced to the elite 8. Yeah, that is so much worse than most of the AAU players.

Also, it is very fascinating to hear that the DFW elite program disbanded. I guess somebody forgot to tell them that. In their minds, they are still alive and going strong.

Ah. Yet, another supporter of dishonor and depravity. And, you are so proud.
