Fears got his first start tonight. Didn’t have a good first half but nice to see him get the start.
Little too early for him with starting responsibilities, coming off the bench lets him come in and attack without having to worry about distributing and running the offense. He looked tentative out there which we haven't seen yet. I have no doubt as the season progresses and the back half hits it'll be a different story but I hope they pull it back right now.Fears stats were brutal last night, but doesn't change the fact his first two games were very impressive. His coach will determine if he should just come off the bench for now. The last thing we want is for his confidence to suffer because he's put in a spot (as a starter) he's not yet ready for. Then again, it's just one game.
I know it's way too early to talk about NBA All-Star selections, but there's a side reason why I would love Austin Reeves to be selected. Since Wilt Chamberlain retired more than 50 years ago, Oklahoma is only one All-Star player selection behind Kansas (5 - 4). Reeves would tie it up. Kansas has dozens of more NBA Draft picks than OU, but it goes to show you that where you go to college does not automatically make one a better NBA player. Tying Kansas can be a nice recruiting tool along with having Fears in the League.
Ayton is just such a frustrating player, has a ton of skill but 0 rim presence and physicality. Think the Lakers would have been much better off getting a rim protector then a roto style player like Ayton because it's hard to win games when it's free reign on the inside. Also, DeAndre Ayton had 22 points and 15 boards. It seems like he will settle in as LA'S center.
I hate the Lakers, but I love AR.....undeniable badass.Reaves … it’s comical man. Buzzer beater to cap a 28 and 16 night.
I know that feeling. In the mid 90s, a guy I went to high school with was the top high school football player in the country and went to Nebraska. The next year, his cousin (a stud basketball player) went to WSU for two years but then transferred to .. Texas. It was not exactly fun having to watch those two teams in order to watch them play in college. Reaves is just so fun to watch and such a smart player. There really isn’t anything he can’t do offensively.I hate the Lakers, but I love AR.....undeniable badass.
trae is currently on a max dealhe will get maxed, and trae never will. weird, wild stuff.
Fears had 21 pts in 30 minutes of action. 10 of 15, 1 board, 6 assists, 1 TO, 2 steals in a 34-pt loss to the Nuggets.
