NBA- OU players and general (this thread only)

Just read that Fears became the 11th teenager to reach 1,000 career points. Not sure if that’s more impressive than saving Moser’s job, but it’s pretty cool!

and Fears another 21 point game on 7-10 in a loss

Yes, his career looks very promising! It has been a rather challenging year to say the least for OU NBA players. The Hawks finally traded Trae Young with all his injuries coupled with the fact they played better without him. Buddy had been trending down for the past couple of years and completely fell off a cliff this year...not sure if his career is over at this point. Austin has been terrific, but missed such a large part of the season with injuries. Jeremiah has played as well as can be expected for a guy who was 18 years old when the season started. I'll forever be a fan of his after sitting in the 4th row under the basket in Charlotte of his game-tying 3-point shot while getting fouled in the process.

I say likely because Luka isn't likely coming back in that span. I don't see the Lakers winning an opening round without those 2. Could be wrong though.

I don't think we were going to win more than a series with our current defensive liabilities, but we are really cooked without those two healthy...
Correct. With those two healthy, we could beat the Rockets, Nuggets or T-Wolves, but they would be competitive series since all four of those teams are evenly matched with everyone healthy. And to win a second series, we'd have to beat SA or OKC. That was a longshot with our defensive liabilities. LeBron has done his best to beat Father Time, but he's at least 5 years past his expiration date of carrying a team in the playoffs. As such, we'd be lucky to win two 1st round games against any of those three teams.

I agree 100%

Buddy gets traded to the Hawks mid-season and pretty much gets a 'DNP- Coaches Decision" in every game for the rest of the season. I'm pretty sure he did not play a total of 48 minutes in his three months with the Hawks. Last game of the year, they play him for 21 minutes off the bench - he scores 31 points on 12-18 from the floor, 7-11 from beyond the arc. Go figure. At the very least, he likely sent a message to the League that if given a chance, he still has some game left. Let's hope that's the case.

Buddy would sure look good in a Thunder jersey.

He couldn’t play for OKC. Def is atrocious
But I’d love for him to be as well.
In fairness, his defense has improved in the past few seasons. When he was on Golden State, Kerr gave him props more than once for his defensive effort. What happened over the past few seasons is that he lost his 3-point CONSISTENCY. Since he was never at any point in his career an above-average shooter from INSIDE the arc, his game came down to being a consistent 3-point shooter. He's in the top-15 all-time in NBA history for 3-pointers made, so he's done a lot well in his NBA career.

Switching gears, how about the last three games of Jeremiah Fears rookie season! The guy scored more than 110+ points and became the 4th youngest player in NBA history to go for 40+ in a game. He finished the season averaging 14 points a game. Not bad at all! Let's see what kind of jump he makes next season.
