NCAA Tournament - Saturday & Sunday Games

Meh. They are a football school who has sucked at football for 20 years, and has a pretty good basketball team produced by a program that has never won a game in the NCAA tournament. A lot of schools’ fans would turn out under those circumstances if they got a draw six hours from home. I was more talking about how they clearly think the refs are out to get them or something. They’re making more noise about the officiating than they are about the game itself.
I mean, they support every single sport. They haven’t bailed on their football team. They pack the place for volleyball and basketball. They support basketball when the are average at best.

And no other fan base would fill an arena six hours away to that extent. Hell, KU fans don’t even take over OKC to that extent and they are closer.

Did anyone else notice that there was a long stretch (about 3 mins) with no stoppage and Acuff was at the scorer’s table the entire time? I can’t believe Cal let so much time run off the clock with one of the best players in the nation on the sideline. He could have called his use or it lose timeout but instead played about five total minutes of the half without him.

Is it just me or do Nebraska fans rival Iowa State fans in booing/bitching about every single call that doesn't go in their favor....some of the most ignorant basketball fans I've seen. BOOOOOO!

They filled it because it’s been forever since they were good. Good for them but I think any school that was down for that long would be the same

They are something else. Truly incredible. And I know they don’t have a major league franchise, but Oklahoma didn’t, either, till the Thunder. It’s just amazing how they support every sport.
They support everything with a red N on it. They probably support everything harder now that their football program has been irrelevant this century. They're as into volleyball as we are softball, probably more. They've turned the Devaney Center into a volleyball arena and fill it consistently.

Up until two days ago, they were the only power conference program never to win a NCAA tournament game. They've now won two of them. This is their best basketball team ever.

Congrats to Nebraska...loved how well their fans represented in OKC. As for Vandy, I admit to being surprised how well Duke Miles played for them this season. Still, in crunch time, seeing him badly miss two 3-pointers reminded me a bit of last year.

I do agree with Wichita that the NCAA tournament Committee did the right thing by eliminating the "last 10 games" as part of the selection process even though it hurt OU this year. No school in the field this year was worse than Texas in their last 10 games prior to this week...and we saw how that played out this week.

And I think in general, the numbers show that how a team is playing heading into the postseason usually isn’t all that predictive of how they will do. That’s why I think you have to just take the teams with the best overall resume.

What a concept
