NCAA Tourney the Thread

C'mon people. There were a few of you which basically laughed when the rumors started about Manek being offered a scholly to play at NC. We all make mistakes with predictions, so own it. There is a 0% chance NC is still playing if they didn't sign him. I thought he made a smart move heading east. He played his 4 years at OU, and likely graduated. The NCAA gave everyone a free extra year, and he decided to go to a Blue Blood school to close out his eligibility. I don't see him playing in the NBA because I don't think he would be able to guard anybody, but I'll be rooting for him to succeed regardless.
 
Brady full season numbers are now 15.2 ppg 5.9 rb 1.9 ast on 49.5/39.8/70.6 shooting

in the NCAA tourney he is 21.5 ppg 8 rb 2 ast on 57.7/47/76.9

Mans made the Final Four. For this year Manek>Williams. I don't care that Williams won ACC POY even though he didn't deserve it (Bacot).

If Reeves can get in the NBA. I think Manek can. Manek is like Novak from the Knicks a few years ago. Tall, great shot, and can hit the 3. Manek can rebound too? I guess?

novak would have a harder time in todays NBA

reaves is also a plus athlete

Maybe. And no, I disagree with that.

If someone like Maxi Kleber can be a starter for games on a squad, best believe Novak could play in this NBA. So can Manek. If Ryan Arcidiacono can make it. Manek can make it.

Novak was a career 46 percent three point shooter and 93 percent free throw shooter. Brady is a good shooter, but Novak was elite, and also taller than Brady. As far as your last comp, not sure how a point guard even factors into the equation.

Brady will have to show that he can be a true knockdown shooter. If he can do that, he has a chance. But his college numbers in that category are far short of Novak.

As a lifelong Mavs fan, I can tell you don't watch many Mavs games. Maxi Kleber is one of the most underrated defensive players in the NBA. He's a completely different type of player compared to Manek or Novak. He's a true center in today's NBA.

If Brady does make it, I think a good comp for him would be Nemanja Bjelica.

Novak is only an inch taller than Manek. Played zero defense, rebounded worse than Manek. And still got drafted in a time where defense was needed in the NBA. I'm just pointing out non athletic guys that have made the NBA that show Manek could make the NBA easily. Brian Scalabrine is another one that comes to mind.

My BIL is a Mavs fan and always laughs when I compare Jud Buechler to Maxi freaking Kleber. That guy sucks. He even says that. And he's a much bigger Mavs fan than you. He has season tickets.

And my point is, Novak wouldn’t have had a chance if he wasn’t a world-class shooter. Brady, in his best college season, is nowhere close to what Novak was as a shooter. I’m not saying he doesn’t have a chance, but I just don’t see the two of them as being all that similar as far as their college profiles. The good thing is that Brady is trending in the right direction.

If Frank Kaminsky can get drafted in the top 10. Brady Manek can get drafted in the 2nd round.

OK, I guess you are now just going to start tossing out the names of a bunch of fairly tall white guys who you think are unathletic and compare them to Manek. I could also probably find thousands of tall white males in America who haven't played in the NBA, but that would be equally pointless. And you continue to ignore the fact that I am not discounting the possibility that Brady gets drafted. All I have said is that none of your comps are actually comparable. You have mentioned a world-class shooter, a point guard, and a national POY. Which one is Brady supposed to be?

yep i think brady will sign a deal and make it to summer league ..

will he stick after that?? i hope so but overseas seems to be a better option then the G league

He wasn't. He plays for Miami. So spare me man. Austin Reaves wasn't drafted and made the Lakers roster. Max Strus wasn't drafted, made the Heat roster. Even Omer Yutsaven which wasn't any better than Manek in college has made the Heat roster and wasn't drafted. All those guys weren't "world class" and have made the NBA mostly because they can shoot. Neither play defense well at all.

Yeah your takes are pretty horrible. You are just comparing him to other white guys that have nothing in common with him basketball wise.
 
Manek is better than Lindy Waters. Although there are about 25,000 people not in the NBA that are also better than him.
