Been said that Harmon is done with college, Manek doesn’t fit Moser’s style. Williams is pretty key, if he stays with everyone else then OU just needs a good pg (Fatts Russell) & the guards are set. Gotta go get a starting big & a backup big.

There's nothing to prevent Manek from pulling out of the portal. If Moser would like to have him back, he may be able to convince him to stay. I'm not counting on his return, by any means (same with Harmon); I'm just not ruling it out. That's generally my approach -- wait and see.

His first job as a coach will be to recruit those players that have entered the portal or declared for the NBA early

Gibson, Harkless, Williams, and Hill are all Moser style players. CJ Noland and Bijan give us depth at guard. We need a PG, a starting 5, and post depth.

It took me a bit to remember my screen name and password instead of just lurking here :ez-laugh:, but this hire inspired me to post.

Nationally, it's pretty much a home run hire. I'm sure he will bring in the right assistants to help him recruit the area. I worry less about his overall coaching record compared to what he has done more recently, especially considering where he's coached to date. I promise Illinois knew all about Loyola-Chicago and scouted them well, but still got dismantled in the tournament. He's proven that he can coach. The last four years have been really good for him and this is, BY FAR, the best job he's had. I have a good feeling about this hire. Time will tell, but go ahead and count me in. Cheers!

The national perception that it's a home run hire should give us positive recruiting momentum . It doesn't sign a kid but we get noticed, in more doors.

If we keep our guys and add 2 inside players/transfers we could be good.

And as we all know, how fans on a Texas basketball message board react to this hire will be the key factor in whether it is a good move for our program. But I’m sure they are just relieved we didn’t hire the number two assistant from an AAC school, so you’re probably right.

We know how OU fans here reacted to the hiring of Beard. Are UT fans reacting the same way about Moser? Stop being a drama queen and trying to make stuff mean more than it does. I have yet to see fans of any Big 12 teams overly concerned with OU's hire. Doesn't mean squat, other than fans of other Big 12 teams aren't outwardly reacting like this is some program changer. That's it. That's the post.
