Am I the only one that is not getting into his hype....I have read on a few other posts that alot of people think he is exactly what we need....some are thinking he will stick outside and that will give our guards room to drive
This is true but I dont think we are going to win games this year by outscoring people....
In my opinion we need to rebound the ball well and play good defense....I dont see nick thompson as a great rebounder if he is not confident in playing in the post

I think our best lineup will be with fitz and washington....but what do I know...I just think that washington will give us that heart and fire and will also be able to rebound well...

Sure, if we want to go big and put thompson at the three some im ok with that....that could be a pretty nice zone defense having him roam the passing lanes....or if we want to go more athletic put him at the 4...but I just dont see a regular lineup that is going to win alot of games with him at the 4

I dont expect much from him number wise...but i think he is exactly what this team needs...

a guy who is unselfish and smart...plays hard and can set a great example as a new guy coming in...

Wanted to believe the last guy with neck tats. We all know how that ended up...

As one of the hype guys, let me just say I am more "excited" than "sure" of anything. He may be a total bust, but he has good mechanics on his shot and from what I have seen he makes good decisions with the ball.

I'm not excited about any of those new guys. Just show me who rebounds and defends and I'll supply the cheers.

Harsh. I can understand being skittish about some of the late signees, but how can you not be excited about Cam and TJ and even Newel and Osby.

Thompson looked decent in the videos. I doubt he'll be a world beater but he could contribute positively.

I believe the argument for Nick over CJ is based on the positive talk and constant mentioning of Nick in the soonersports coverage while CJ has been rather quiet so far.

I think offensively he might be on the perimeter as we run a 4 out, 1 in this year. On defense though, I don't think he'll shy from banging down low. Nick seems like a guy who truly bleeds crimson and cream and will do whatever possible for this team to win.

If you want to argue that a 4 out 1 in offense will be bad based on the inability to rebound or have a low post game then I could see that. I don't think it will Nick's problem though as he screams Eddy Najera type in effort and wearing the Sooner jersey with pride.

I'm sorry but how have we seen him giving najera type effort.... He hasn't played a game....najera was a banger and from everything that has been said nick is more of a shooter not a banger....nick is nothing like najera and I am not sure I have seen a najera type guy in a while

I am saying he is going to leave it out on the court everytime he steps on it like Eddy did. From all that I've read and heard this guys is not only happy to be a Sooner but is proud to wear the Crimson and Cream. He is hungry and wants success and will do anything possible to get so I suspect he will become a banger for us down low. I get the feeling he will go down as one of the fan favorites before this year is over for his effort on the court.

You don't make a guy a captain three months in unless he is doing something right, and my gut tells me that is putting in maximum effort on and off the court. As far as rebounding etc., I'm sure he'll be fine. The guy is 6'9" and about 220, there are PLENTY of competent rebounders in college with those measurements.
