Re: >>>>>Oklahoma [15-4] vs. Alabama [13-7] Game Thread<<<<<

Sadly, I think this game is a preview of how OU exits the NCAA tourney this year. They will play some unranked team that is more athletic & drives to the rim while OU's shooters go cold and rely on Trae to score every time

Re: >>>>>Oklahoma [15-4] vs. Alabama [13-7] Game Thread<<<<<

I thought we had good spots. Bama was the better team on their home floor today.

Re: >>>>>Oklahoma [15-4] vs. Alabama [13-7] Game Thread<<<<<

Too many missed open threes.

Re: >>>>>Oklahoma [15-4] vs. Alabama [13-7] Game Thread<<<<<

Trae Young from 3-point range today: 4-9 (44%)
Rest of team from 3-point range today: 4-18 (22%)

Supporting cast sucks yet again.

Re: >>>>>Oklahoma [15-4] vs. Alabama [13-7] Game Thread<<<<<

Folks if we didn't have Young this team would have 10 or more losses. Very disappointing how no one else has stepped up on a consistent basis this year. What happened to McGusty? James? Odomes? Lattin? These guys were supposed to be catalysts for this team.

Re: >>>>>Oklahoma [15-4] vs. Alabama [13-7] Game Thread<<<<<

Bama=superior athletes, they could beat us by going one on one

We were cold from 3 and got too hesitant. Once we get behind a good coach and decent team will do exactly what they did.

That is why I said week or so back that other than TY OU isn't a very talented team..it is what it is

Re: >>>>>Oklahoma [15-4] vs. Alabama [13-7] Game Thread<<<<<

I was hoping this team would develop some physical toughness as the year progressed....and maybe they have slightly. But when we get punched in the mouth against athletic, physical teams....we simply haven't respond at times like we should. And as we move into February, I'm not real optimistic that we are going to find the grit it takes to make a deep run in March. Sometimes, it's as easy as the shots falling, but when the shots aren't falling, you had better find a way to compete (defensive stops, getting to the FT line, etc.). This is 3 times in 3 weeks (WV, KSU, Bama) now this has not happened....and the game gets away from us. It's not the end of the world, but it is a little disappointing.

Re: >>>>>Oklahoma [15-4] vs. Alabama [13-7] Game Thread<<<<<

We get exposed by athletic teams that play like the current possession is the most important one. The subbing patterns early are killing us. Doolittle has to play extended minutes earlier in the first half to be able to establish some flow. In most tight contests, many of our guys are victims of playing without set pieces or actions to get specific shots on the floor...which puts too much emphasis on Trae, and also too much on jump shooting. More set pieces sends you to the FT line more, racks up foul count, etc. We have to get more creative offensively, and cut down on the PnP one-trick-pony actions.

Re: >>>>>Oklahoma [15-4] vs. Alabama [13-7] Game Thread<<<<<

Alabama is a terrible team. This will end up being a bad loss.

Nah....it's not a bad loss. Bama will end up making the tournament around a 10 seed.

I couldn’t agree more! I started a thread about our reserves. Talk about being disappointed!

Re: >>>>>Oklahoma [15-4] vs. Alabama [13-7] Game Thread<<<<<

Well, OU is still the most inconsistent top 10 team. And still has no depth. And next year will suck badly if OU doesn't get more talent.

Re: >>>>>Oklahoma [15-4] vs. Alabama [13-7] Game Thread<<<<<

Just have to stick open shots. Do that decently today and we win today.
Rough one for Manek, which is frustrating because he's been really good all season.

Shooters have those days where the basket looks like a thimble; Brady had one today.

Fortunately it means nothing in terms of the Big 12 race. Basically an exhibition game.
Learn and grow from it and get back to business next week.

You mean Jordan Shepard at the point doesn't get you excited?

I believe most of the posters here have said if OU makes the Sweet 16 that would be heck of year for this team...With some luck I think they can
