+++Oklahoma (15-5, 5-3) vs. Baylor (12-9, 2-6) Game Thread+++

OU should be glad they got the win, but of nothing else. They are atrocious on the second unit, and will get exposed (and have been, recently) come March and April (though OU will not make it to April).

Nah, Trae young can carry a team to the final four by himself. I’ve seen lesser college players do it in the past.

Also people aren’t giving Baylor any credit here. This is a tournament team in any other league. They have played 9 top 25 teams.

A month ago.......people bragging on our bench...how deep we were.

Bench has disappeared.

McGusty.......5 points tonight. 2 rebounds 2 turnovers. I was really hoping he would break out and start being the player we all thought he could be...

They led KU by six at AFH with less than three minutes remaining in that game.

TY-greatness
Lattin - two really good games in a row...both offense and defense
Odomes - starting to round into form; best defender/effort
Manek - hits some 3s and rebounded; defense on the other hand....ugh.
McGusty - it's about to reach critical mass with this guy....is he ever going to find it this season?
James - we really missed his toughness tonight

The bench - not even worth mentioning outside of Doolittle. I'm really beginning to lose hope that he will contribute anything this year. He just has zero confidence and looks extremely tentative.

Lon ought to say to the guys who want minutes off the bench that they are going to have to fight to earn any minutes (but he won't). I don't see a lot of "want to" from any of the reserves right now. Maybe one or two of them will step up....hopefullt.

Most would agree that Baylor is a solid team and that you better be ready to play them...but the number of easy shots they got tonight was sickening. Still, if we can play one of the 5 worst defensive games I've see in more than 40 years as a Sooner fan and win, it tells me that this team can still achieve something special.

I usually avoid this board after a loss. It appears I need to avoid it after victories, too. :facepalm

And lost to all of them. This is not a good Baylor team guys.....average at best. And the rest of the season will bear that out.

Actually, this is one of the few games this year where there is very little to disagree about. We were great offensively with 4 of the starting 5, terrible defensively in every sense of the word, and got nothing once again from our bench. But we'll take the win!

Can anyone spin that defensive effort and the lack of bench production? I’m far from a pessimist but that defensive effort was poor tonight. The switching defense was flat out awful.

Happy with the way Lattin and Odomes played. Need James back for Saturday.

Auburn hasn’t even played 1 top 25 team and they are ranked ahead of Ou.

On the plus side, no one is complaining about the 30-footers Trae took tonight lol.

Game was in the bag......I knew it as soon as Doo fouled....:ez-laugh:

It was deja vu.....what Baylor guard was it that missed the free throws at the end of the game a few years ago? Baylor down one and we get a foul called on us......the guy was like a 85% free throw shooter and misses both.

As the season progresses, the LOSS at OSU is looking worse.

Baylor should have beaten Kansas in Lawrence. So I will take this win, no matter how ugly it was defensively.

Team is going to struggle without second best player and Mcneese being about 50% if that

They are going to need mcgusty to get out of his funk

Also think expectations got way out of wack by fans not many teams go from not going to any tourney to the final 4 in 1 year
