I agree. I believe all three of our freshmen will. No doubt Buddy will set the pace and the example for everyone to follow, and most won't be able to match his dedication or his enthusiasm. But if they at least try, I have a feeling that next year's team may be another pleasant surprise, just like this year.

We will need some consistency from the soon to be sophomores next year. I really think that they will be the leaders of the team since I just do not see Cam as a vocal leader. A great way to back up being the leader is to be consistent in the games.

A few other thoughts on this:

Buddy was 48% inside the 3 point line and 24% outside it. Still, 3 pointers accounted for 40% of his total shots. In addition to shooting better, I think he's got to understand his sweet spots on the floor and find ways to get himself there.

Also, Buddy is great attacking the rim, but just doesn't do it in the half court often enough. He needs to be aggressive in attacking the open lanes. Same goes for Hornbeak.

I suspect they have already been working on it. We know they can hit shots because they did it in the early games when the competition wasn't as tough. It is a matter of becoming comfortable with the higher level competition. Some do and some don't but I think you will see a more mature shooting game from all three freshmen and M'Baye next year. This year it is like all of them except Hornbeak looked they were wondering if they should shoot or not.

Anybody know how well Buddy shot the 3 in HS? Seems like he shot it pretty well.

With his current release, he will struggle to shoot off screens/dribble, but should be fine with the open, stand-still jumpers. He struggled with those though. I figured they'd try to revamp his shot a bit.

Booker has an odd release point as well, iir.

Hield will be a very good wing on both ends of the floor. His game has a strong physicality to it.

If he puts in the work Cousins intrigues me the most. He has serious jets and length. He needs as many reps as possible to turn that potential into controlled aggression.

Hornbeak is Mr steady & dependable.

Cousins is Austin Johnson with a lower basketball IQ. And, of course, he hasn't shown us the big balls yet.

I wish they would all shoot 500 shots a day and by all I literally mean everyone. Spangler, Bennett, Cole and Clark maybe don't have to take a bunch of 3s but they need to work on a scoring move over and over again.
