TCU was the ultimate trap game. Another gutsy - and ugly - win. But you take it and move on. Winning 8 of 9 in this league in something to be proud of.

I don't expect a win at Iowa State, but man it gives us something to look forward to. And we have a chance if we shoot the 3 well. And the LNC better be crazy next Saturday - win or lose on Monday.

Proud of this squad. It's March. Let the Madness begin.

There should be no such thing as a trap game at HOME. That was an uninspired, sloppy, lazy performance. Glad we won. Nothing else to say.

Honestly just happy we won. TCU has proven time and time again they will not lay down for ANY team. KU saw this first hand. Beat a 17 win team and did it playing poorly. I take it and move on. Any win from this point forward is a good win. Everyone is playing for their tourney lives, seeding, and conference title hopes.

There are no style points in basketball. A win is a win.

This was the ULTIMATE trap game. Looking ahead to a HUGE week. Biggest week this program has seen in a decade or more. That was a good win.

Sloppy? Only 10 turnovers. How sloppy.

Lazy? We outrebounded them on both ends and had 6 blocks.

Tough game. We didn't shoot that well and they had a hot first half.

We had them 39-24 the second half. That takes very good defense particularly with the way Anderson was playing.

Sometimes you have to give the other team some credit too. They had won 3 of 4 and the loss by 6 at Kansas.

I was at the game. Yes. I thought JW was sloppy. Countless times he left his feet with no clue what he was gonna do with the ball. Thomas waited about 32 minutes before he decided to play and Spangler got 1 rebound. We simply had no intensity.

I agree a win is a win. But if you're satisfied with that kind of effort against that team at home then prepare to be disappointed again come tourney time.

And there are NO home games that are trap games. If you slip up at home against a poor team it's not a trap. Is just a failure.

Sorry I forgot my Crimson colored glasses before I checked the board today😄

Ah, the old "You're all in denial; I'm the only one willing to call a spade a spade" trope.

It doesn't take crimson glasses to recognize that the "realists" in the house have been spreading doom and gloom throughout our recent eight-out-of-nine-game stretch, and yet somehow we keep winning, and against very good teams too.

Here's some realism for you: In their four games prior to yesterday, TCU beat swho by 15, ksu by 14, and Tech by 17. They also lost in Lawrence by 8.

What about those four games made anyone think we were going to roll over them by double digits yesterday, I have no idea.

ISU lost on Saturday. WV got rolled. KU benefited from their usual boost from the officials to steal away with a tight win. oswho lost to Tech. On a day like that, I'm certainly not going to complain about a seven-point win over a team playing its best ball of the season.

Ugly wins are better than pretty losses. And to call out Thomas on a great game just shows you are just trying to be negative with no substance to back your claims.

Holy hell man, you do realize this team only lost by 9 at ku and was in the game throughout, right? JW had a pretty tough matchup today and still dished out 7 assists, scored 8 points, and hit clutch free throws. Win by 7 and win 8 out of the last 9. Guess what, this is what tournament games are going to look like. Team may have been looking ahead to the next two a little, that's why there is a trap reference. Remember the last two years of capel and find a way to enjoy this.

I thought we would be a little better from the free throw line which why i predicted a 10 point win.

I wouldn't pump up the last 8 wins too much. Out of our last 8 wins, exactly two are against teams that are locked into the NCAA Tourney as of today. Two. And we also lost to a team that will definitely not be Dancing.

All we've really done, recently, is show we can beat up on the bottom of the league, and beat a good team in Norman that hardly wins away from home (WVU).

Wins are wins, but nobody can be happy with how we're playing of late.

Better back off or you'll get attacked for stating the truth. Based on LK's comments you can tell he wasn't real pleased with the effort.

I'm glad we won and don't think otherwise. I just don't see us trending upward right now despite a nice record the last ten. We all realize our schedule was front loaded with difficult games and the home stretch would be easier.

And I wasn't attacking anyone in my original statement. But I got attacked for looking past the fact we won and stated we weren't very good in some areas. When that happened I backed up what I said and that took me pointing out some individual players. I don't like doing that but it is what it is.

If you're pleased with getting down double digits at home to TCU but coming back and winning in the last minute good for you. Continue to live in the moment. I'm trying to look down the road and we'll need better effort to make any noise in the post season. I'm hoping we get it.

I don't blame people for wanting an elite team. But we are not one and it is going to be hard for us to legally ever have one. Billy came closest by being ahead of the game and picking up JUCO's when there was a lot of talent there. Sampson was pretty close with his last OU recruiting class but we would have probably been a little short unless he had landed Blake Griffin.

The Griffins, Scottie Reynolds and James would probably have been an elite team but many believed that Blake would not have played for Sampson.

Also we are a good defensive team and we were playing a good defensive team. That usually ends up being a pretty ugly game. What I object to is the harsh criticism of players who are not as elite as we want them to be. If you have ever played the game you know that players and coaches don't want to lose but are not always at their best. If we don't have that dry spell in the first half we probably easily win by double digits and maybe as much as 20.

But the conference is too tough to expect blowouts this late in the season. All but Tech still have a shot at the post season and you are going to get their best shot.

My criticism wasn't harsh nor have I ever individually called out a player. I did so because I was being attacked as I stated earlier. And I'm not sure what you are referring to by criticizing a player for not being as elite as we want them to be? How do you know how elite anyone wants a certain player to be? I think what is expected is consistency. And we all know there are good days and bad.

I guess we can continue to find excuses for not handling a team that is 4-12 in B12 play... At home no less.

It was a win…which is better than a loss. I'll stick by what I said…we better pick it up or it'll be a short post season and that's my last comment…I'm sure most of you will be pleased with that.

And I wouldn't downplay them too much, if I were you.

First of all, the naysayers on this board were expressing great concern prior to virtually every one of those eight wins. The Nervous Nellies can't have it both ways: Wringing their hands about losing a game before it's played, and then dismissing the win after we prevail.

And about that "good team that hardly wins away from home" -- WVU has as many road wins in conference as both OU and KU (4) and more than ISU (3).

And you know as well I do that there are very likely four tourney teams among those eight wins. We won't know for sure for a few more days, but as of now, both oswho and ut are in, according to virtually all projections. And oswho beat KU in Stillwater, and ut just gave the Jayhawks all they wanted in Lawrence. Without a huge deficit in free throws in favor of KU, ut wins that game. So dismissing those two wins is just silly.

And citing our loss to KSU when a) that game was undeniably impacted by questionable officiating and b) that same KSU team went on to defeat both KU and ISU (and in both cases without the help of the officials) is just further spin.

Finally, offering a negative "all we've really done" overview of those nine games without even mentioning our dominant win over ISU is laughable.

What is laughable is still bringing up the officiating. Sheesh.

When fans complain after a victory, it shows that the OU program is fully recovered from the debacle at the end of the prior coaching staff. Expectations are on the rise. This is a good sign, if one wishes to look at it this way.

I have had fun watching this team this season. From here on out, every game is ALMOST like a one-and-done scenario.

Lose at Iowa State, and a share of a Conference Championship is likely unattainable.

Lose to Kansas, and a share of a Conference Championship is unattainable.

Win both, and a higher NCAA seed is attainable, which greatly helps the prospects for winning in the NCAA tournament.

The fact that these end-of-season game are important means a lot.
