OSU beating #11 Memphis bad

They said at the beginning of the broadcast he had flu like symptoms. They played him a little in the first half, and he just looked winded/tired. Once he's better, his minutes should return to normal.

Yeah, Forte was sick for sure. He had the stomach flu... they said on the broadcast that he was at the hospital getting fluids earlier in the day.

I'm actually surprised he played at all, given that he looked pale (more than usual, lol) and really looked like he was running around at about 50%.

Glad we didn't need him.

For some of you BlowSU fans defending Ford's decision to keep in the starters when you are up 30 with 3-4 mins left, only because Memphis left their wonderfully talented backcourt in...and they could make a lsat minute run...gimme an effin break. I really don't care what that idiot of a coach does..but I will say I would have lmfao if Smart would have rolled an ankle or whatever else and had to miss 4-6 weeks because he was in the game at that point. He would be getting lambasted today for it!

This was also the biggest game in the nation. It wouldn't surprise me if he left Smart in a little extra long to get some positive exposure. He is on watch lists for a lot of national awards and I promise you those voters were watching. Fords first responsibility is to his players and team.

Did not watch the game...but if Memphis kept their main rotation in, Ford has every right to keep his. The losing coach is in charge of waving the flag and getting the dogs called off, not the team that is ahead. If this was 7th grade girls bball, different story.

I think he was trying to end on a positive note. I think he sould have pulled them earlier due to injury concerns, but that is why they pay him and not me millions to coach the game.

As far as running up the score, who really cares at the college level. I witnessed some of those Billy Tubbs beat downs and did not like them, but it made it sweeter when he got his rump ran out of the big 12 or was it the big 8. I am getting older and can't remember such things. My wife is 45 a year older than me. Perhaps Sky wil pm the type of meds he takes.

Not really. Two things slowed down Billy Tubbs, and one was a result of the other. At the start of the 1990s, OU's academic standards had toughened up. Billy (along with Jerry Tarkanian) was the BEST in regards to signing the JUCO stars. With many of them having grade issues, they couldn't stay eligible and it slowed Billy's recruiting...this led to what we all know as "burnout"...and he needed a change...I'm not sure other coaches had much or anything to do with it...all internal.

I can buy this. Perhaps another thing is that the game did change in terms of guard hand checking and physicality. It became easier to make it a grinder type game. With the recent rule changes we might see a resurgence of the Billy and Tark type styles which may not be all bad.
