Osu/ou

This is how far this team has come----I didn't think we played particularly well. We didn't rebound well. We stood around on some possessions. We can do better. Oh, yes. And, we won by 19.

Gioya just keeps being Gioya. But, she did not hit a three today, 0-3. That brings her down to 13 of 21 from three in conference play---61.9%. Fortunately, we had threes from Derica, Maddie, Nicole, and three from Peyton.

Peyton keeps doing things to impress: 13 points, 7 rebounds. Harassed OSU so much that they may want to file charges.

Donohoe---zero points. I know that Maddie blocked two of her four shots. Maddie blocked one other shot. Was it also on Donohoe? Maddie and someone shut down Donohoe.

Nice second half by Kay Kay.

Yes! Not perfect but a good win. I want to be peaking in about a month and a half, not now.

Hate to see you leave YCN. This fun!

This was the first game since Yale in which OU was favored by realtimerpi.

Is it that important? I never got a prize for my posts.

No. Syb I know what you're talking about. But I have over 10K posts, and it totally poisons my credibility to be portrayed as a newbe.

YCN, you have always been a great poster. You certainly have nothing to prove.

I certainly am not smarter since I made my first post.

Arizona State 39

Halftime at Palo Alto

I have loved Maddie since I saw her as a freshman.

I am rapidly falling in love with Gioya.

I am solidly loving Peyton.

And, there is always Gabbi.

This team is special.

I thought we threw it into cruise control with about eight minutes left. I want to see the box score. I think we substituted several players in who hadn't been getting a lot of time the last few games and let them finish it. Later, we even saw Shaya, and she did OK. Vivi wasn't great today. But, the rest of the top seven had good days.

I owe every one an apology. At the 4:11 mark of the first half we only had 4 turnovers. I turned to one of my friends I was sitting next to and opened my big mouth to the fact, and we proceeded to have three quick turnovers to go in at half with 7. I will learn to keep my mouth shut.:)

I really thought this would be a tighter game in the first half, and then just out work them in the second. To be honest, I didn't think OSU was all that good. We were quicker, tougher, out hustled them the whole game. They did a nice job of rebounding on us, but our defense did not give them very many easy looks. What can you say about Gioya. Love her in high school, and love her now. We haven't seen some one like her since Danielle, in my humble opinion. Sharane is playing back to her old self, and Peyton is becoming a master thief. I just like the way she sneaks into the passing lanes and swats the ball away on steals. Maddie just gets better each time out. I wish she would get a little selfish on the perimeter. A sweet shot and needs to shoot a little more. I could go on, but not the best we have played, but certainly good play from several pieces of the puzzle. I don't know if we can beat the Bears at Waco or not, but I do know it won't be a blow out. I will predict, we beat the Bears at home.

Even Whitney R. got in the last little bit of the game. Sherri cleared the bench today - she took it easy on the pokes - not wanting to run up the score TOO much. LOL. :sherri175_jpg_xs:

Didn't get to watch the first half.....why did osu get the T?

I just watched that part again (it happened at 15:31 in the first half). He was pointing at Kay Kay's moving screen that knocked down the OSU player. Kay Kay played really well today, but sometimes her screens make me cringe. :D

I agree. I attended the TCU game in Fort Worth and of course was in the LNC today. I feel pretty strongly that we played better at TCU. But part of that may be due to TCU being at a serious height dis-advantage to us and unable to even begin to control our inside game.

Do the people who vote on the top 20 - 25 polls ever look at the schedule these teams play? I noticed that OSU was ranked at #20 before this game. Some of these voters must sort the D1 teams by wins and losses and rank them accordingly, regardless of who they beat or lost to.

I'm just glad we have coaches who know the value of scheduling some good teams in the pre-conference schedule.

Although an occasional coach will claim that they are fastidious about filling out their polls, some indicate that they don't even do it. Someone in the office, like a secretary or assistant coach, will fill it out. The head coach thinks he/she has something better to do. I think this occurs more in the men's offices.

I have the impression that the committee barely glances at the polls.
