They jacked up my bracket. I had them going to the next round. :facepalm
Have 2 brackets and had them losing in both. Friend of mine in Vegas from OU saw Oregon in Pac 12 tourney and felt like they could beat the sheepherders.

I remember us pursuing Guerrero and Jurick, but were we in seriously on Cobbins and Smart? Someone please explain how they were taken from OU.
Where is Nash going, he was better in high school than he is now
Lots of physicality, no head in the game whatsoever.
Not to get off on another terribly long tangent here but mind explaining that reasoning to me? I know the perception is hes a terrible coach, yet there is plenty of things to disprove that way of thinking. Not a ton but being the only coach in years to win at KU seems to paint a different picture. As does a lot of things that happened this year, Fords first year, and little things such as beating a top 10 team at least once every year hes been at OSU
Ford has taken good recruits from OU (cobbins, smart, you could say Jurick). He has split with OU every year except one. So what exactly is OU gaining by Ford being at OSU. Again I understand the natural hate and when there is hate things always get magnified. It doesn't shock me that this board thinks Ford is terrible, thus him sticking around is good. Yet, I'm just not seeing that benefit to OU. I share the sentiment of Drew sticking around, he underachieves like crazy, so it makes sense big 12 schools want him around.
I'll chalk it up to our heated rivalry and things getting magnified from hate. I certainly don't expect to come here and hear fans saying what a great coach he is.
Carl, I'll try to answer your questions if I can. I have never thought of Ford as a terrible coach, and doubt if the majority of OU fans on this board feel that way. The success OSU has had this year would appear to disprove that theory. He acts like a child sometimes, but that doesn't make him a bad coach.
The perception is that he's a great recruiter who has underachieved with the talent he has brought to Stillwater. Right or wrong, that's how I see it, too. This year, for example, a few so-called experts had OSU as a possible final four team, yet they bowed out in the first round.
When considering the talent on this year's OSU team, with two McDonald's All-Americans and a supporting cast any coach would be proud of, I'm reminded of an OU team a few years back that underachieved their way to a losing season. I don't blame the coach back then entirely, just as I don't put all of the blame on Ford for yesterday's loss. But the fact remains that he failed to get the best out of his players when it counted the most. He's still young and experienced to some extent, so maybe he will in time.
For whatever it's worth, that's how I see it.
This is how I see it as well. Ford is definitely an above-average recruiter, but he hasn't shown to be anything more than an average coach.
When the preseason comes around and the writers pick a coach on the hot seat in every conference, Ford will be the name for the Big XII (though Rick Barnes seat is getting warmer). Had OSU won a couple of tourney games, I think Ford would have bought himself at least two more years. Even without Smart, they should return to the Dance...and for his sake, they had better.

It really sucks that we have a special player like Smart for one year and we lose in the first round.
Again, Smart led OSU to a 13-5 Big 12 record. He hasn't accomplished jacked squat. If they don't go on a nice run in the tournament, he will have a lasting legacy of absolutely nothing at OSU.
On a separate thread JBaker said the following:
Sounds like you agree with him?
I understand that, at the end of the day, the NCAA tournament matters most. But I think it's more than a little bit unfair to put the entire season on one game. Again, a little perspective is helpful. Since Eddie's last full season in 2005, OSU has finished in the following positions in the Big 12:
9th, 7th, 9th, 5th, 7th, 9th, 7th
So this year, we finish 3rd, one game from sharing the title. I think that's pretty good, considering where we've been.
Jeff, I couldn't care less if you reject everything I had to say about Ford and OSU. If you don't want to believe that I heard a couple of talking heads say that OSU was a possible final four team, that's your choice. It was during a studio show on one of the networks, can't recall which one. Even if I did, I'm not obligated to explain further. You can take my word for it if you want, makes no difference to me.
I got involved on this thread because Carl asked why OU fans see Travis as a horrible coach (something I don't agree with, by the way). I answered his questions as honestly as I could, which was a lot more than anyone else had done to that point. I made it clear that Travis is perceived as a good recruiter who has underachieved with the talent he has brought in. I didn't say that was an accurate assessment, I said that is the "perception." Don't shoot the messenger. Read the responses on this thread and you'll see that Travis is thought to be a far worse coach than anything I described, or even believe him to be.
I'm sure his cocky attitude, his immature behavior on the sideline and the fact that he's OSU's coach has a lot to do with the opinions expressed on this and other Travis Ford threads. This is an OU board. What did you expect to find, sad, teary-eyed posters who were distraught over OSU's loss yesterday?
What's it like on the OSU boards? Are Poke fans happy with the way Travis coached his boys up in the game against Oregon? I haven't been on a Poke board in years. Unlike this board, where fans of other schools are treated fairly well, OU fans are not welcome over there. A few Sooner fans I've known over the years have been banned for, well, being an OU fan of all things.
