OT: Changes at OUInsider

Absolutely. I don't post a whole lot here at the moment but this is by far the best place for BBall info. I would much rather be a part of this sites football and hopefully off topic boards than SoonerFans.
 
Well, we certainly have enough moderators here to run a separate football board...

Haha, that is definitely the truth.

Put me down as being in favor of a football board. I might even post on it, from time to time.
 
I would welcome OUGridiron.com or something like that which would be set up similar to this site. In fact I think it would be awesome. I would absolutely post about it on OUI to help promote. They can go ahead and ban me.

I think I have pretty much decided to do just this. Although, I'm not sure how quickly I will be able to put this together. May not be able to do it in the next day or so. Could be next week.

I may just go with the board (just like this one with a site logo/photo at the top) and then add in the home page along with free recruiting updates beginning next February or later in the summer.

I actually almost did that this summer, but decided to hold off another year. Really kicking myself now for now going through with it.
 
I would love for this site to have a football board but for some reason this site is blocked at work for me where OUInsider, Soonerscoop, etc... aren't.
OUhoops and SoonerFans both fall under a message board/chat feature that is blocked where the others somehow fall under sports which isn't.

Is there a reason why?
 
This is a very good idea in my opinion. It seems OUI users may be looking for a good forum. It keeps ouhoops an independent basketball site. That seems to give their users a good alternative and lets us keep being a great site. I wouldn't mind if there was an OU football forum that I actually enjoyed the discussions on.

Please make a football site. If it's as good as this one i will tell the world.

I like this bb site and what you have given us with it. I bet you could do the same for FB.

Awesome! That would be so nice of you for people like me who like this kind of format to read and post on. I have enjoyed OUHoops especially for women's basketball news. I hope you can get it going.
 
I don't post on here (lurker) but would appreciate a new football forum.
 
That board is in complete meltdown over there already. It is a total mess. They are now trying to back track but they're not saying they'll change their plans, just change some of the semantics. The bottom line is that there will be only ONE free board and that will be for EVERYTHING - any and all OU sports, off topic stuff, etc, etc. That will quickly turn into a debacle. What they are failing to realize or are too stupid to realize is that quite a few of their pay users also post on their free boards. Basically if their free board becomes a mess and dies so will their pay customer base.

I post on their off topic board quite a bit but I don't even want to go over there now because the board is flooded with nonsense related to this ill conceived move.
 
They announced this move months ago and basically were never really prepared for it.
 
rumor is not that they are close to getting a free off topic and a free owen field.
