Other College BBall Thread 2024-5

FL is good but TN looked every bit as bad as we looked against AL. It can happen. Clean up D and rebounding and it can be a huge swing for us. Hopefully, offense is cooking tomorrow. Feels like a must win.

Side note. I didn’t realize Caleb Grill was at Mizzou now. Good player but haircut is even worse than the one he had at IA St.
Isn’t this Caleb grills 3rd team?

He’s been there for a while. This is at least his second season with them, maybe his third.

As for the Tennessee comparison, it’s apples to oranges. I’m sure that if Rick Barnes had a history of losing at least 10 games per season in conference, their fans would be concerned, too. There’s a difference between having several complete meltdowns a year, like we have under Moser, and having an occasional clunker in the middle of winning a dozen or so conference games.
Well, I agree if you are comparing history and overall season. I don’t know how/if we are going to bounce back after our bad loss. I certainly hope that bad loss is not an omen from past few seasons. I think our offense can be significantly better than we showed at Bama, even against other elite teams. I am just not sure about our D. Hoping new players and coaches can correct a lot of it but we shall see.

I don’t know. I lost track of him and I hate Mizzou so I never watch them. I recall he got dismissed from IA St at one point but never thought about him again until I spotted that haircut while flipping to Mizzou/LSU once Texas/Auburn went to half.

Our offense vs Bama wasn't that bad. Shots just didn't fall the first half. Defense on the other hand...

Texas is getting blasted by Auburn. Auburn is really good but Texas looks awful as a basketball team.

Might be good that we play them twice

Was just thinking that. Mizzou is better, but I don't hate playing them twice, either. Split with A&M, sweep both of them and you can see a way to 9 SEC wins.

Watching the other SEC teams like Miss State, Auburn, Kentucky, Tenn etc. 8 or 9 wins is a really good year this year in conference. Even 7 is solid IMO.

Our scheduled from Feb 4-Mar 5 is gonna be the crucial part of our schedule now. If we find 4 wins+ in those 9 games that would be amazing.

This Auburn melt down is absolutely insane.

Had the game in the bag up 8 with 2 mins left. Then their best player gets a tech arguing fouls. Now it’s a 3 point game with 30 seconds left.

Auburn has great athletes but they are not the most polished team I have ever seen. That ending reminded me of the OU women’s game at TN. But a road win is a good thing no matter how you get it.

Georgia at Georgia is not going to be a must win.
Georgia just blew out Kentucky at home. That won't be easy.

Need to win 3 of the 4 with 3 games being in Norman.

Need to at least 1-2 in the 3 game stretch after that.

Need to find a way to win 4 of the last 10 games in conference after that. That will give us 8 wins which should be enough to make the NCAA Tournament. I think 7 should be enough in this conference but likely won't be.

I bet Texas wishes they had us on the schedule 10 times.
