Wague is a good example. I think everyone would agree that he has looked good in spurts but hasn't been stellar by any stretch of the imagination.
If you go look at his stats, he is basically the same player he was at bama.

But if you look at his advanced stats, you see the following from last year to this year:
PER: 21.5-->25.4
ORtg: 125.7-->146.8
DRtg: 104.1-->96.7

I think we were around -450 to make it a couple weeks ago. If I had a FD account, it would have been a no-brainer to bet "no" at that point. Like you say, you would either win the bet and a good amount of money, or lose the bet and get to see us in the tourney.
I played the +154, they will be a bubble team till the last day unless it keeps going south and then all the plus money on no will be gone.

His offensive rating has gone from 99 to 121 and his defensive rating from 102.6 to 89.6. Those are massive jumps.
Tell me you don't understand those stats without telling me you don't understand those stats. You're using stats that take into account 5 man lineups to argue individual performance. He is better, but he was always going to naturally get better. He is not significantly better, though.

Win share is an individual stat, as are OBPM and DBPM. And natural improvement isn’t guaranteed. See, Godwin, Sam. See also, Groves, Tanner. Northweather, Luke.

So a player is able to take more chances on steal attempt because he has better defenders behind him. Does that not help his defense rating? I mean more steals would seem to help. Teams matter in those stats.

Side note,I am glad Oweh and Los are doing well.

UCF had a chance for a slam for the ages yesterday and some dude for Houston contested it 100% and rejected one of the purest blocks I've ever seen on a power dunk. The whistle was blown because, well, officials are terrible, but it sent a message to the Knights. It was one hell of a basketball play. Milos is playing well for Houston and looks noticeably stronger.
Since I opened this can of worms, I'll expound. I think playing well is a "given" when you're the starting PG on a top-ten team, especially for a coach who is notoriously hard on his backcourt. The stats may be the same for Milos, but his overall production carries more weight than last year when he was the starting PG on a NIT team.

That's just my opinion. No need to release the hounds.

Yep and how about having some rim protection? Get beat off the dribble but the big man sends that stuff into the stands. That ends up helping your guard’s defensive rating, too.

lol you think it helps a guard’s individual defensive rating if he gets beat off the dribble and someone else blocks a shot? Wow.

The shooting percentage of the player he is guarding decreases. So yes it does help.

They took #14 Miss State to OT. They're #80 in Kenpom. That's not a terrible team.

South Carolina is a terrible basketball team. Probably the worst in the conference.
I think the race for the bottom is likely them, us, Arky, and LSU. South Carolina definitely in the driver’s seat lol.
