With the rise of Baylor, K-State, Iowa State, and until this year A&M, it seems like OU, OSU, and Tech are being pushed down. Now you get rid of A&M while they are slipping and add West Virginia (17-10, Bob Huggins) and the league gets even better.
Is there ever a point when a program just sucks for a long period of time? OU was good for about 25 years in the modern era. Now, in both recruiting and results they are behind the above mentioned teams.
Have OU and OSU turned into those Nebraska and Colorado teams of the Big 12 era? They have some decent players, every now and then put themselves on the bubble or get into the NIT, and other times suck.
Is that the new reality for OU and OSU basketball? Or will OU recruit and coach well enough to pass Baylor, ISU, WVU, and KSU again?
That next recruiting class will probably tell the story for Oklahoma. They will lose Fitz, Pledger, Osby, and Grooms after next year. Either they recruit real players or they sink for awhile.
