OU at Baylor

Peyton, what are you doing???

Your point guard is sitting on the floor next to you....and you shoot a 3???
and our Mulkey is 35 ft from the bucket???

I don't understand our offense...when Mulkey is in the game, I would think eight feet is as far from the bucket that she would get. Both ends!

And defend the baseline, please..

Again I was wrong when I said that this was one of the reasons why I didn't see her being successful early on.

I don't know what the stats are, but their blocks and steals killed us.....They are an excellent ball team, and pretty sure they will be playing U Conn in the finals......I don't know why (and not just this game) but the better team that is leading 20 - 30 points, still gets all the calls. They don't NEED the help.....If it's a foul, on either team, call it....not just on one team. we still wouldn't have beaten them, but a few game changers along the way, does help. Hang in there, girls.....You will be fine......Stay focused.....Next game up......

Nancy just needs conditioning and experience. If she is diligent in trying to improve her game, she can be a force. But she will have to be in better shape so she can play longer stretches of the game. It will probably mean that Sherri will have to change her offense to a slower pace. But when Nancy is in, it changes the other teams offense. The will have to move their game further away from the bucket. And that's a good thing.

They had eight blocks, nine steals. Supposedly?

We had 19 fouls called on us.

They had 14....most of them in the fourth quarter after the game was over.
Cox didn't get called for a foul until early in the fourth quarter??

This game was interesting until the officials took Vivi out of the game. Everything inside that Baylor did resulted in a foul. Everything we did was apparently a clean block. They didn't even notice two or three double dribbles in the lane. That destroyed the flow of the game.

Maddie didn't have a good shooting night, and that didn't help. We rushed some layups that could have made it a game at one point.

I wonder if we will actually get legitimate officiating in Norman?

Why did Nancy get so few minutes? Did Baylor push her around? I noticed in the stats Baylor had 60 points in the paint, that is beyond belief.

I rather see the girls being secure with the ball, make layups, learn how to pass..then the rest will take care of its self..

All that needs to be said is Baylor had an assist on 73% of their FG's. And OU shot below below Baylor's FG defensive %'s of 27% and 28% BTA for the season. We shot 26% and 23.1% BTA.

Embarrassing. SC has got to find a way to match Baylor with talent. I have no doubt that she can coach just as well as Mulkey.

Sherri coached teams don't show 50% of the fundamentals on the court of a Mulkey coached team. And is 75% coaching.

Sorry, Syb..., I saw a different game...the zebras didn't stifle Vivi-- Baylor's defenders blocked Vivi's shot repeatedly... I hugely admire that Sooner lady and her commitment to academics and bball... but she didn't measure up against Brown, Cox, Cave, et al. Meanwhile those same nefarious refs whistled Brown for her second foul early on Q2, so they weren't just calling fouls on Sooners... put the blame on refs if you like Syb, but this outcome was determined by the superior athleticism, execution and bench of the Lady Bears...
This season isn't over...there are key games ahead where OU wins will maintain a Sooner presence in the Top 25 and bolster their Tourney portfolio...

Also, why are ANY starters playing with 5 minutes to go and up 25+? Really a class act by Mulkey

Perhaps for the same reason Maddie played 34 minutes, Peyton 34 and Ortiz 35 when they were down 25. For certain our reserve need minutes more than does Baylor's as they have 11 players averaging 12 minutes. Baylor had 8 players get 15 minutes. OU had 6.

Well, hello ????? We are the team that is behind !!!! DUH !!!! We are trying to catch up.....Get it????

Kalani Brown is still on the floor with 3 minutes left...

And Brown played only 15 minutes for the game. So what is your point? Should have had Cox the backup in so we could get further embarrassed.

I usually do see a different game, fortunately. I see how calling it one way on one end and another on the other end does disrupt what a player might be trying to do. At the outset, Vivi was effective. Once a couple of shots were ----"blocked"----, it changed how Vivi operated, as well as the confidence with which she operated. On the other end, they were calling fouls if we stopped the penetration from Baylor. The game was one of the most unevenly officiated games that I have seen this year. It took a 20-15 game and reversed the entire flow of the game.

Once you know that you won't be allowed to penetrate in your usual manner, it tends to create rushed behavior. If that occurs, Baylor wins big. If Baylor is governed by the same rules, you get a balanced game----a complete shift in confidence.

Baylor may be good enough to win fairly. Let's try it that way and see if it becomes a more interesting game.

Well it was Alexis Jones not Prince that would have a great game but I'll take a triple double any day! Sic'em!'

Baylor had 6 more FTA than OU so it was fairly even on calls

Kalani Brown is still on the floor with 3 minutes left...
The four Baylor post players are interchangeable. Cave is a senior and probably the best, but Kim plays the other three more in order for them to gain experience. Brown and Mompremier are sophomores and Cox is a freshman.

I love Little and what she bring to the team... but I think OU will be better once she and Manning has moved on they are both looked at as our go to scorers, yet they are inconsistent, but will log long minutes...
