Fact: it makes no difference what Griner says. The recruitment was still illegal, whether she had already decided or not.

I suspect the NCAA did take Griner's comments into consideration which is why they didn't impose stiffer penalties for the recruiting violations.

I just think the NCAA is gutless. They haven't really come down on anyone, even a kid who was found to have taken $300,000 per year? They seem to be quite willing to penalize a Northern Alabama, but totally unwilling to punish a major BCS school. I looked at a list of schools on probation, and it was a list of directional schools, either that or the probation consisted of "you can't visit a prospect on Tuesdays in July."

The NCAA has hammered our football team pretty good in the past, men's basketball too.

The men's basketball violations took place under Capel which was probably around the time that Kim was cited for violations.

Wasn't it around 2008 when the football team got in trouble for players getting paid for not working?

I don't know that the sanctions imposed as a result of Capel were so bad. The effects of the death penalty on SMU seem to have provided caution. I wonder if Penn State would even have had a program for a couple of years had it not been for the SMU influence.

I missed the game. Did Leatherface even bother to shake hands with Sherri after the game? I also wouldn't be surprised if she even gave OU any respect when it was over.

As I was watching the ending of the whorn game against Hypocrite U in Austing a couple of weeks ago, I saw Skeletor stopped at scorer's table on the way to shake Aston's hand and yelled for a fan come down there.

I found this post from whornfans.com:

Mulkey had a confrontation with a Texas fan after the game. She challenged the fan to come down to the floor. The fan declined. I don't blame her. Is be scared too.

They are sometimes hard pressed to bite the hand that feeds THEM!

But I never read or heard anywhere that Odyssey Sims made a similar comment. Mulkey's being able to schmooze with Sims' parents very well could have been the turning point in her recruitment.
And it's fair to say that Odyssey Sims has been a recruit only slightly down on the totem pole from Griner.

I believe there were multiple players that graduated last year that played on Griner's team, if I'm not mistaken. I'm assuming Skeltor's daughter has been playing AAU ball since 7th grade based on her comments in the article. The probation is for 3 years and violations were considered major.

I think Skeletor fired the male assistant (former AAU coach) last year after the loss to UL as he probably wasn't needed anymore.

Is it too late to recruit Ronda Rousey to show up for a Baylor game and heckle Mulkey? That wouldn't end well....

That was in the '05-06 off-season, and is why Stoops got rid of Bomar and Quinn. As I recall, it was some nitwit booster who let them do that, and he also tried to hide it from OU. To me, that's not on OU, directly. But of course, we got the bad pub about it anyway.
