Ou @ bu

I just started to post something really, really ugly. Then I took a deep breath and decided not to.

Ugly doesn't do this beat down justice.

Baylor and OU are two programs going in the exact opposite direction. Baylor is better in every part of their program than we are right now.

Joe C., with booster and fan support, needs to sit Sherri down after this season and have a heart-to-heart about what she's going to do after this abortion of a season mercifully ends.

And by that I mean, are you changing staff? Are you changing your coaching in anyway? Are you going to start putting an emphasis on recruiting great basketball players instead of putting the supreme, overarching recruiting on what your narrow idea of what a human being's proper character is?

WHAT, WHAT, WHAT IS GOING TO CHANGE?

Everything in this program should be on the chopping block or this pathetic season-long performance will end up being the high point over the next two years.

And then the program will be back exactly where it was when Sherri took over.

I'm hoping we can bring some game the second half. I know we can play better. Baylor is very good, but we didn't do much right the first half.

What jumped out at me in the early going was how - - for want of a better word - intimidated we played. With Baylor having lost Griner, they are not any better than many teams on defense, yet we blew layup after layup after layup, easy shots that we normally make!
Let a team like Baylor jump out to a big lead at home, and you can forget it. Yet, that's what we did.
Davis and Sims are killing us - they have 38 of Baylor's 53 points.

Totally agree. To start this game, we looked robotic and hesitant. The missed layups are particularly deflating, especially when they drill you at the other end.

That sums it up. Play good defense, Sims tosses up a jock shot, and we let them get the board and a layup.

Yep. Our girls were standing there flat-footed, while McKenzie Roberson scooted in and grabbed the airball and put it in.
Pathetic.

For those who keep saying we have plenty of talent, please pay attention to this gàme. Baylor has better players than we do at every position.

When we get beat like this, it isn't talent. As stated above, we tend to come out lethargic or intimidated. I wonder if we even came to Waco. We did the same thing at UCLA, but Baylor has talent. UCLA doesn't.

Incidentally, we did beat out Duke for Ortiz. They offered her last summer. I suspect that someone would offer a Pierre-Louis as well.

Just look at the difference three players - Davis, Johnson, and Sims - makes. Not to mention the big girl.

Rebounding is about the same. We haven't turned it over that much. The difference:

Baylor is shooting 56.4%. We are shooting 35.6%.
16 of 45 vs 31 of 55, and they are leading in threes 6-2.

There goes Robert blame everybody but myself daddy's boys Griffin

I'd be curious how many of their shots are within five feet.

Defeatism? We may sweep Baylor next year. Sims is good, and we do have some talent.

Is Carter playing?
