OU@ISU 7pm espn2

i think hollis is running some of you up the flagpole a bit.

bad effort, terrible D but losing on the road happens in conference. a lot. now, if this season is a nose dive in conference like the last 2 then i think we might re-visit where we are at.

Part of me thinks Oklahoma basketball fans have a hard time shedding the the football mindset. Losing is just part of basketball. You are never going to win every game, and you are never even going to win every game you should win.

You could certainly make a case for not thinking Lon is the future of the program, but not based on any individual game.

You haven’t read the comments.

WORST TEAM EVER! Shutter the program ! No more LonBall! We recruit too many Jucos and foreign players!

Poor performance, I turned it off at 5 mins in the 2nd half. Manek shot well & Bienemy was solid. Reaves is getting torched on defense and continues to be selfish, he’s got talent but he’s hard to watch. Effort & execution wasn’t there which is always frustrating to watch. I think they’ll play well Tuesday.

Why is Lon still employed?!? He shouldn’t have been allowed to get on the plane! Let’s fire Joe C while we are at it! HEADS MUST ROLL AFTER ONE LOSS!!

Literally nobody said anything like this. What I said earlier though was that it’s not that we lost it’s how we lost. We were completely dominated by a bad ISU team. We played bad defense, we didn’t hustle, and we had zero heart. Those are things you should have every night, they’re independent of venue and whether or not your shots are falling, or at least they should be.

Totally agree! ATTITUDE REFLECTS LEADERSHIP!!! ALL
ON LON!!

Yes. Losing a conference road game is no huge deal to most basketball fans. If they pick up 3 road wins total that's pretty solid, 2 doesn't suck. So 6 or 7 loses isn't unexpected but still they need to get better. Losing at home means more.

Hey thanks for proving me right!

Yup that final four was an aberration! CAN WE GET KELVIN BACK!! WORST TEAM EVER!! 2-1 in conference is awful! AWAY WIN AT TEXAS ISNT ENOUGH!! Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar Lon!!

My opinion in not based on one game. It's based on the past 3 1/2 seasons. I said a few months back that Lon needs to retire and it can't come soon enough.
Last night's performance was pitiful and to me reflects how they are coached.

If this one game was in a vacuum it would be excusable. This is the 35th conference loss and 52nd loss overall since the final four.

Last night was bad, every team has them. I’ll reserve full judgement until the season ends. This team is still figuring out their identity & roles other than 3 people. This team has more ability than last year but a lot less experience. Imo Reaves is the one who needs to figure it out quick seeing how he was at OU last season & has major D1 experience.

Why does everyone keep saying we are inexperienced? Obviously the freshmen are inexperienced but this is Reaves's second year with the program, the other 3 guys started the entire year last year. We have JUCOs who are inexperienced at this level but they are still juniors. And at this point everyone has half of this season under their belt. I'm tired of hearing how inexperienced we are. If Williams starts that means we have 3 juniors, a senior, and a sophomore who started the entire year last year on the floor. How is that inexperienced?

D1 basketball is completely different than JUCO. Vic, Kur, Williams, Harmon, & Hill make up 55% of the players who play and they are inexperienced. Manek & Doolittle are playing well, Bienemy is starting to pick it up. Like I said Reaves is the most disappointing to me so far.

Okay but you can't really say that Reaves is inexperienced, and I understand that JUCO is different, but they aren't freshmen and they've had half the season to get acclimated. It didn't take Terrell Everett, or Aaron McGee or Daryan Selvy or Corey Brewer... the list goes on and on, a full season to get acclimated to D1 basketball.

Again I’ve never said Reaves was inexperienced, read the post you quoted. And no Williams isn’t as good as the best JUCOs during Kelvins time. Kelvin was better at recruiting Jucos, Lon is better at finding gems.

How many "gems" has Lon found?
I mean, besides Buddy.

I think you've stumbled on the real problem here...
