QUICK PREVIEW
It’s second place versus first place Monday when Oklahoma (20-7, 9-5) travels north to take on Big 12 leader Kansas (21-6, 12-2) at 8 p.m. CT inside Allen Fieldhouse. The Sooners, who have won three of their last four and are tied with Iowa State and Texas for second place in the league, are coming off a convincing 86-73 home win over Kansas State on Saturday (led by 27). The Jayhawks, winners of three straight, improved to 13-1 at home with their 85-54 victory over Texas on Saturday.

ON THE AIR
Monday’s contest will air on the Sooner Radio Network (KRXO 107.7 FM "The Franchise" in Oklahoma City; KTBZ 1430 AM in Tulsa) with Toby Rowland and Mike Houck calling the action. The game will be televised by ESPN with Brent Musburger, Fran Fraschilla and Holly Rowe announcing.

THE SERIES
Kansas is the only Big 12 program with a winning record against Oklahoma. The Jayhawks own a 140-65 series lead and have won 11 of the last 12 meetings after OU had won four of six. KU holds a 71-16 series record in Lawrence and has won the last 12 matchups there. OU’s last win inside Allen Fieldhouse came in 1993 (80-77) when Billy Tubbs was head coach. Senior point guard Terry Evans went 6-for-10 from 3-point range and finished with a game-high 26 points. OU never trailed in the second half against the sixth-ranked Jayhawks. KU had won 20 straight Big Eight games prior to the defeat.

LAST MEETING
In Oklahoma’s 90-83 home loss to then-No. 18 Kansas on Jan. 8, the Jayhawks shot 54.7 percent from the field, the highest mark allowed by the Sooners this season. OU led 43-39 before KU finished the first half on an 11-1 run to lead 50-44 at the break, and the Jayhawks never trailed after that. The Sooners had outrebounded their previous six foes by an average of 9.7 a game, but KU posted a 14-board advantage on the night. OU senior forward Cameron Clark matched a career high with 32 points on 10-for-18 field goal shooting and 12-for-16 free throw shooting, and sophomore guard Buddy Hield added 18 points. Freshman guard Wayne Selden led KU with 24 points (5-for-10 from behind the arc).

PREVIEWING KANSAS
After going 9-4 in the pre-conference portion of its schedule, No. 8/8 Kansas has gone 12-2 in Big 12 play and is looking to clinch at least a tie of its 10th straight outright or shared conference crown Monday. The Jayhawks, who began the year with a 5-0 record and rose to No. 2 in the AP poll before dropping to No. 18 in early January, have won their last three games and five of their last six. They’re coming off an 85-54 home victory over Texas on Saturday. In Big 12 play, KU leads the league in scoring offense (81.5 ppg), field goal percentage (.513) and rebounding margin (+8.2), and ranks second in scoring defense (69.9), fourth in 3-point field goal percentage (.371) and fifth in free throw percentage (.718).

Three of Kansas’ top four scorers are freshmen and the other is a sophomore. Freshman guard Andrew Wiggins leads the way with his 16.4 points a contest (ranks ninth in Big 12) while also averaging 5.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists. The preseason all-conference pick is shooting .452 from the field and .358 from 3-point range (.400 in league play). Sophomore Perry Ellis is averaging 13.4 points on .541 shooting, as well as 6.5 boards a game. Freshman center Joel Embiid, who is from Cameroon, contributes 11.1 points (shooting .625) and team highs of 7.7 rebounds and 2.6 blocks. Guard Wayne Selden Jr., another freshman, averages 10.1 points and 2.7 assists while shooting .347 from behind the arc.

Bill Self is in his 11th year as Kansas’ head coach and owns a 321-65 record there. He is in his 21st year overall (528-170).

Re: *****OU-Kansas Pregame Notes/Predictions/Game Thread*****

I'm ready to call for the upset as well! 92-85 OU in OT. This would be number 4 in a row for Big Monday OT Games. Embody & Black get into foul trouble, and Wiggins disappears (he is due for one of these again). We are behind early in second half but make the come back and tie it with 10 seconds to go on a Jordan Woodard lay up. Then in OT we just keep that momentum.

Re: *****OU-Kansas Pregame Notes/Predictions/Game Thread*****

Win tonight would be huge. And it's do-able. KU isn't elite this year, IMO.

Still, I can't predict a win. Tough to win @KU. And they have the bigs to give us fits.

Re: *****OU-Kansas Pregame Notes/Predictions/Game Thread*****

Allen Fieldhouse and their big's aren't a good matchup for us. Hope we find a way to win though.

Hopefully we can turn this around. I've seen this at AHF too many times.

KU playing dumb and letting us stay in this... if we just calm down and play tough make some shots we can be in this. COME ON GUYS !@!@$
