*********OU-Kansas Gameday Thread**********

When someone figures this team out let me know because it changes from game to game. And Cousins plays like Kruger hands out shots before the game and he needs to spend them.

They all do. While I agree Buddy, Thomas, and Cousins should get most of the shots, if one hasn't shot in a while, or starts slow, they start taking bad shots. Sick of watching that crap. Team has a selfish streak in it, and that is probably at least a small part of our problem.

I didn't think OU would win, but I did hope they stayed within 5-10 points

We can still finish in that range. We need to play a strong second half; for my mental state if for no other reason!!! :facepalm

The problem I see is when things go south, we have certain players who try to take it into their own hands solely and try and bite off more than they can chew with a lot of one on one that ends in turnovers or bad shots. They need to be able to focus during a run like that and run team offense.

I'll bet that dome Kelvin used for his bubble drill is in storage somewhere. Maybe it's time to bring it out again.

Definitely is.. we used to use that and it always ended in fights so we blocked out so we didn't have to do it anymore..

Inside game is fairly absent. Thomas moves like a sloth at times and needs to show a mean streak.

This team is what it is. They are a tournament team, but I just don't see them winning more than one game in the tournament. They are missing several things physically (rim protector, quality depth), but their biggest obstacle is between their ears. They have a horribly low basketball IQ (terrible decisions, passing etc.) at times, they don't play with poise, they don't play within the framework of the offense (when things aren't going well), and they just aren't mentally tough from game to game. This isn't just tonight, it's been a problem all season long (Creighton, Wash, K-State, etc.) They can practice all they want, but it doesn't seem to change/improve their mental reaction in games or their game/court awareness. This team simply makes too many stupid decisions and lapses to beat good teams on a consistent basis....unfortunately, I don't have the answer.....maybe a psychologist?

And they very well could come back and make a game of it tonight, but it doesn't change any of the issues listed above. It just appears that they are going to have them all season....ugh.

When O.U. drives the ball the get hip check a lot knocking them off the dribble and let's face the ball is just bouncing there way. Keys to a better second half 1) More penetration in the lane draw the foul
2) Inside out with Spangs and Thomas draw the defense to them and Cousins and Heild being aggressive.

Right now they are Forte-ing Buddy he need to attack draw them to him allow for his other teammates to get some easy shots.

I agree with this. OU stopped running offense and tried to go one on one.

I may be foolish but I still think OU could make the Sweet 16 if everything falls into place..Some teams they need to avoid.

Good news is that rim on the other side is a couple inches bigger. I hope they aren't changing them at half

Talent is the least of our problems, but we have serious mental deficiencies. So many of our issues are between the ears. When you're making a comeback every possession matters and these guys do not understand that. The lack of urgency and basketball IQ makes me crazy.

Didn't booker hit a three? Did he go out right away? If he is hitting shots feed him the ball at 22 feet. That will spread the floor some

I would say inconsistency is the biggest problem with this team. And last year we could say "hey, we're young". But these are 3 juniors and a senior and a sophomore that has been starting since day 1, so that excuse should not be given

I disagree with that...OU isn't blessed with a lot of talent...and it shows sometimes.

Buddy attacking gets dangerous. His ball handling in traffic leaves a lot to be desired.

Boy, those "defensive efficiency" stats must be taking a hit. Can't give up 50 points in a half. Not good.

Guy's who go to the home games does Kruger get in there ass? Or give them a hug after the screw up?
