If someone had told me OU would be down by two with a chance to win the game if we could make another defensive stop, I would have thought they were out of their mind!

I’m not much on moral victories because they still count as a loss. But I couldn’t be more proud of this team than I am right now! This was one of the best defensive performances I have seen in sometime!

I don’t consider him a forward like I consider all of the others. He plays mostly on the perimeter on offense. And yes, I know he occasionally will go down low, but not often, and not against good opponents.

I haven’t seen anything from Manek and Hill against big time opponents this year that makes me think the game changes with either one. In fact, I actually thought we played better without them today.

Would have loved to have had Hull today. His effort and defense and energy would have really helped, especially since the only two bigs we had both were in foul trouble all day. We couldn’t play aggressive post defense because of it. One more active defender would have helped with that.

Played our butts off on that hallowed floor, just didn't quite have the firepower to get over the hump. Effort like that isn't enough in AFH, but it'll win crucial ballgames in Ames, Manhattan or Stillwater. I really hope to see more will like that. I feel like it's been missing on the road for a long time.

And the timing of swallowed whistles. There were several key KU fouls that were blatant but went uncalled. Toby and Kevin Henry were really carping about the officiating n the first half, but as Toby stated, it always happens in Lawrence.

I was very proud of the guys today. They played their butts off.

Of course Manek and Hill would have helped us. It was a hardfought game, a tough one to play shorthanded, and we had key guys in foul trouble. The minutes and extra fouls they could have provided (if nothing else) would have been very valuable.
