Last night really demonstrated to me how important it is for OU to sign another guard for next season. Hornbeak and Grooms were both in foul trouble. Hield was out. It really impacted the game.

I think OU really needs another combo guard for next season. I would prefer someone that leans more to a sg than pg but they need to have slightly better ball handling skills than Pledger.

Well add Woodard who is a better ball handler than Grooms, and Hield would be back, so there is a PG and a combo guard with better handles than Pledger.

I know OU gets Woodard but that is only 4 backcourt players out of 13 scholarships in a game where 60% of the players are in the back court. What happens if someone breaks a toe, twists an ankle, has a concussion or gets the flu? Unless Kruge is confident Neal or Clark can give 30 minutes on the wing, he has a problem.

Yes, I would also like another guard on the roster ...

OU MEN’S BASKETBALL
2013-14 Roster - Guards (so far)

Buddy Hield ... 6-3, 199 Guard ... Soph
Jelon Hornbeak ... 6-3, 180 Guard ... Soph
Isaiah Cousins ... 6-3, 182 Guard ... Soph
Jordan Woodard ... 6-0, 175, PG ... Freshman

plus

3/4 "Wing" .. Cameron Clark .. 6-6, 208 ... Senior

Yes, another guard or two would be nice. We only have 4 next year. But, the question that hasn't been answered is do we have 4 guards for two positions or do we have 4 guards for 3 positions.

I know that many poster think that we have 4 guards for 3 positions and that leaves us alittle short. And it might turn out to be the case. But, at this point, the question remains open. I for one am not for sure what kind of look Kruger is going for in the long run.

Even so, another guard is needed. It would be OK to have 5 guards for 2 positions, with the option to play a 3 guard lineup.

Been saying this for quite a while now.

I see that Booker is visiting this weekend. I'd kill (not literally) to get him as a part of this class. Kid can really score it.

This has been clear all year. We have a good core of guards coming back for next year, but it will be a bit short handed (I am in the 4 guard returning camp, never liked Clark's ball handling or passing). A combo guard with the ability to play point sounds great. anot sure if any good ones are available from high school. Maybe a JUCO?

Booker, or another comparable guard, would be a good get if we can pick him up. I agree that we are a bit short on depth at the guard position.
