OU offers JUCO PF

Thought this post in response to questions from mikearease and CMSooner on another thread warranted a separate thread, so we can discuss what appears to be a new recruit on OU's radar. Dominique Elliott, a 6' 7" 245 PF out of Trinity Valley CC, says he has an offer from OU and plans to make an official visit September 7. He also plans to sign with one of several schools on his offer list in the November signing period.

Thoughts on going after a JUCO power forward? Is he part of a back up plan in case we don't get Woodson and/or Jones?

This article on Scout.com says he averaged 17 points and 8 rebs his senior year in high school. He signed with Missouri State, but went the juco route after failing to qualify academically. He lists OU, Auburn, Southern Miss, Marshall, Ole' Miss and Okie State as his top schools, and claims to have offers from all of them.

The article also says that he plans to visit OU September 7, and that he is on track to graduate in the spring with a 3.5 GPA. He averaged 8.2 points and 8.7 rebounds at Trinity Valley JC in Texas as a freshman last year.
