Seems about right. I'd put Baylor over Texas, though.

How is KU going to be compared to last year? I had it in my head they'd be the same or even a bit worse.

Ellis, Selden, Mason, Traylor and Lucas are back from last year's team. The first three are as solid as any threesome in the Big 12, and the other two aren't bad either. Beyond those five, I don't know much about the role players or the newcomers on this year's team. Still, a Bill Self coached team always seems to find a way to compete for a conference title.

Isn't there some question about a new recruit who may or may not be eligible; one who everyone seems to think could be a difference maker? If so, the Jayhawk's success may depend on the newbies on their roster this season.

OU played KU tough in Lawrence last year, and won by two in Norman. If this year's team is as good, maybe better, than last year, I like our chances of at least another split this season.

Interesting that Tech is picked behind KSU. Didn't KSU lose just about everyone?

Interesting that Bill would use his vote for ISU......

Absolutely they have an issue with Cheick Diallo who is a 5-star center and the MVP of the McDonald's AA game. Although it's a different prep school, it's the exact same issue OU had getting Dante Buford's courses all approved by the NCAA clearinghouse last season. He's their top recruit and is probably a one-and-done player. A piece of good news for Diallo is 2 other players from the same school have been approved to play for other NCAA schools.

Note that Diallo is listed #34 on the Top 100 list where Buddy was ranked as #3. That shows how good of a player some people think he is to be ranked that high before ever playing a D1 game.

Ok, here is your quiz for today.

We know Kansas got 9 first place votes, none below that.

OU got no first place votes.

Iowa State got 1 first place vote.

So how were OU's votes distributed below that. i.e. how many votes for 2nd, 3rd, etc?

And how were ISU's distributed?

There is only one possibility for each school if my quick analysis is valid.

I mean it's not too hard to figure out. You think the former aggie asshat and Toupee fool would vote highly for us?

Given alternatives, Bill Self wouldn't never knowingly aid OU in any way. His professional career began and will likely end as a Jayhawk but he is and always will be an Aggie at heart.

I really do not see how a vote in a preseason poll either aids or harms anyone. It is a preseason poll. Both OU and ISU have a bunch of returning players following a successful season. It is easy to see how someone could be justified in selecting either team 2nd or 3rd.

The good news: It is a blast to beat a good team on their home court. OU has a legitimate opportunity to get it done in Lawrence and Ames this season. It is especially fun to win these road games when the home team is highly ranked.

Get out the pitchforks...OU cheated a first place vote in the preseason poll!!
