Or turn into a better player? Could have been due to injuries, or not sticking around, or whatever.

I'll get the list started with Bobby Jo Evans and Angelo Hamilton. Also Victor Avila.

Keith Clark, having him an Blake Griffin with Longar Longar for a year would have been absolutely sick inside.

I thought J Detrick was going to do more

That redshirt year did him more harm than good.

I'd say De'Angelo Alexander and Larry Turner. Both were better after they left OU. Seems like that happened too much under Sampson.

I thought J Detrick was going to do more

He was the 1st player that came to my mind, along with Leonard Flowers.

Flowers was just as highly sought, if not more so than Stacy King. I believe that he faired pretty well against Stacy in HS. Never did anything, including going to class.

lou moore
blake johnston
prince fowler
rashad carruth
ken conley

carruth was a knucklehead, but always heard he could play. he may not qualify since he never really put on the jersey. johnston, i never expected anything out of him when he came here. but once i saw how good of a passer he was, i thought he'd be a pretty good backup to lavender because we were so thin there after white and price graduated. him quitting hurt us a little bit. and conley put up decent numbers. i just expected a bigger jump in his game going from a junior to senior.

lots of good answers. Ebi Ere's and Micheal Neal's senior seasons where dissappointments.

Still wonder what Jason Detrick's effect on the Sooners Final Four team would have been had he not been redshirted...

Bobby Joe Evans...never panned out because of injuries...

Expected more out of Ray Willis initially...

Eric Martin...Thought he would turn out to be better...

Kelly Newton/Michael Neal...solid shooters, for some reason just expected more...

Those are three excellent choices.

Ryan Humphrey.

Like many, my first instinct is Angelo Hamilton, but I think that's colored by Al overrating him beyond belief...

it wasn't just Al. every sports publication in the country was proclaiming Angelo to be the next best thing to sliced bread.
