**********OU-TCU Game Thread**********

I don't really care about anything other than whether this puts us on the bubble.

TCU was 236th in the RPI and 256th in the BPI.

Before this loss we were 28th and 36th, respectively.

Joe Lunardi disagrees. Heard him just an hour or so before our game, and he said he were a 10 that could play ourselves up to possibly an 8/9. At this point in the season, he probably has a pretty good idea.

The dude from CBS has/had us as a 10 as well.

Agreed. I think this drops us to the 11/12 line. I don't want to leave the committee a chance to decide between us and UK...we need to beat ISU.

This was Tcu's 2nd conference win. Think about that. Horrible way to finish conference play. A bad loss in the tourney and we will be nit bound.

I hope no bubble teams get hot in their conference tourney.

We're still 11-7 in conference, and 11-8 with a loss in the first round of the Big 12 tournament. I think that and a solid RPI will get us into the tournament, but I agree that a win against ISU would really help solidify it.

Two bad losses in the last two weeks, that's not good.

Iowa State is playing for their NCAA lives too so it's almost like an NCAA play in game coming up.

I am confident that OU will get in regardless of the Big 12 Tournament but stranger things have happened. Worst time of the year to play your worst game.

I know this is hollow, but that was a pretty good lesson for the guys returning next season. You never take anyone for granted.

That and OU still needs to find the right players. Don't mean to sound harsh but again certain players who have been here awhile continue for one reason or another cannot get over the hump of losing games they should win.

Our computer numbers look better then our resume does when you break it down on a game by game basis. If we lose to ISU will we make it in ? Probably but our guys did jeopardize everything by coming out the way they did today - we aren't guaranteed $hit at this point and if things break against us there is a chance, while slight, we don't make it in.

I'm afraid today put us right squarely behind the 8 ball. With a win today we were in. We sure need to get by Iowa State!

Agreed. Gotta beat ISU to feel comfortable. Otherwise, a couple random non-field teams winning their conference tourneys, and OU could be on the outside looking in.

It's time to start pulling for all the favorites to win their conference tourneys.

I saw Lunardis last bracket had us a 10 against UCLA with a possible 2nd round matchup against Louisville. I'd take that in a heartbeat.

Also, if Buddy Hield can develop a consistent outside shot he could be an all American.

We ain't getting a 10 seed anymore unless we light up the Big 12 tourney so no idea why you're mentioning that now - also if you think a potential 2nd round matchup against Louisville is one that we should take in a heartbeat you must not watch much college bball.

Hield's a pretty astounding rebounder for a 6'3" guard. His ability to defend though is special.

M'baye, Pledger and Hornbeak combined for 3-19 from the field.

I would love for OU to be playing in the 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament, I really don't care who they play.

Um, yeah, I think the term is "beggars can't be choosers". Pray tell where do you think we'd be seeded then. We aren't one of the last 4 non automatic qualifiers in as of yet. I could see us drop to an 11, but honestly, I don't think this loss hurts us that much. Remember, Kansas lost there too (thank God for that I guess). And I've watched enough to know thst UCLA inspires no fear in me, and yes Louisville plays up tempo, pressure style which we've had issues with, I also know they haven't played great down the stretch. But thanks for your opinion.

I don't think this loss hurts us that much.

How can you say that?

It's not just a bad loss, RPI-wise, it's a terrible loss.

It was on the road, which is a stat (road record) that the committee looks at.

It was in the last 10 games of the season which is another stat the committee looks at.

Don't kid yourself. That loss will cost us at least one seeding spot, maybe 2.

You probably won't hear me complaining much about the SFA loss after this. That might make some of you happy. :)
