Not a good start. 5 points in 8 minutes, frankly, stinks.

Just all around poor play.

Hopefully just shaking some rust off, but I am concerned about how we start games. It has been very poor this year.

T'Ona didn't play well. We are playing at an OK level, but not hitting open shots. Their interior play has set us back a bit. I notice that Maddie's two shot blocks were not credited by livestats. Peyton looks anxious. Gabbi is the most relaxed that she has been all year.

Overall that was a good tune-up for A&M. I think we will beat the Aggies by 10.

Derica, Peyton, and Maddie had off nights shooting. They were 4 of 23 from the field, and 2 of 11 from three. Yet, we, as a team, shot 42.9% from the field, and 39.3% from three. We won rather easily. We only had three turnovers in the second half.

It was interesting that Sherri called a time out 0:11 into the fourth quarter with a thirty point lead. Wonder what point she was making? Gabbi 22, Kay Kay 16, and McKenna 13?

Treece has an excellent form on her shot..very balanced with her shoulders square. Gives us the ability to go big and still have four shooters to spread the court. I think she will play a lot of minutes now that her thumb is better.

Terrible first quarter. Bad judgment on passes. Some of them to the post you could hardly see the white of KayKay and ViVi's uniform they were so covered. Cold shooting, poor coverage of 3 point line.

After that solid performance. I thought the help defense was the best I have seen this season. KayKay and ViVi solid and best game of the year and maybe her career by Gabbi. Albeit against a pretty poor team.

Anyone else hoping to see a lineup of KayKay, Treece, Maddie, Little and Ortiz?
Treece should be able to kill them from the high post if we ran that offense. That would only open up our low posts even more.

Shot poorly early. Maddie, Peyton, and Derica not much help offensively but from 2nd quarter on defense looked pretty good. Titi didn't shoot well but gave a boost defensively. I wish Maddie, Gabbi, and Titi would quit this fancy pass #@!! and just make sound passes. We had very few turnovers today, but several from trying to do highlight reel stuff that didn't work. McKenna-wow-looked GOOD. Shooting, defense, and rebounding. Blocking out working well-rebounding is improving.
We will find out in a week if we are as good as we look against so so teams.

McKenna is really going to help us this year and beyond! She has good height and quickness and outside threat. Very excited to see her grow in Sooner uniform!

I really enjoyed this game. We did start a bit slow and have done that some this year. It seems like we are doing everything right early except the ball isn't going in the hoop.

But by the end, this was the most fun of all the games I have seen this year - and I've seen every home game. When Treece hit her 3rd trey, the bench went absolutely wild. Maddie had a towel in her hand and just started whipping it on the court. A time out was called and I loved all the chest bumping. Everyone was just wild with excitement for McKenna.

After watching the recording of the game, I realize it was after McKenna's 3rd basket (and 2nd trey) midway through the 3rd quarter, and it was Gabbi slapping the court with a towel. Still, the entire bench went gazzooo over it. I really like how the girls get excited by great results for everyone.

Glad someone enjoyed watching the game. Don't mean to be too negative, but take away the poor shooting by 3 starters and you still have a team that is below Top 20 athletically. I find it incredibly disappointing that the team looks slow.

The only trouble UTSA gave us was due to their quickness. That seemed to force us to shoot threes even after we'd missed a lot of them. At one point Sherri must have told them to get the ball in to the post because we had several trips in a row where we tried to do that to limited success.

I'm not sure that a 3 guard system is our best bet.i think Treece showed yesterday she should be on the court a lot more. I realize that when Goya is health, we can run a three guard system, but not with the current group. The 3rd guard has to do more than be another shooting guard. Wyatt is too limited and should be backing up Little.

I'd put Kay Kay or Pierre-Louis at the 5, Treece at the 4, Maddie at the 3, Little at the 2 and Gabbi at the point.the I'd expect 20 minutes each at the 5 and 35 minutes each from the other 4. When Goya comes back, she, Treece and Maddie would rotate at 3 and 4 with time decided by the matchups with the opponent.

And you would lose a lot of games for us with that plan.

There is no way Vivi can play 20 minutes and our production not go down. She is still recovering from injury - as is clear when you actually attend games. KK is producing lots better - and should since she has been at OU 3 years longer (counting the redshirt year - Achilles injury).

Treece had a great game - but you don't want to expect she will be hitting 3's like that every game. I do think she will be an excellent player for us over the next few years.

But why are you feeling so negative after 8 straight wins and a recent 39 point victory? Enjoy the games and let's see how far they can go this year. I'm really hopeful about the A&M game, but also keeping a grip on the confidence. It will likely be a pretty big test for us. We use to really struggle with Blair's system.

Blair's defense is not nearly as feared as it was when Vic was there and they had better players.
