Worst game in recent memory.... The facts:

• OSU started 0-9 in conference play
• They blew us out
• They cleared the bench and had walkons in the game
• A walkon hit a 3 at the end of the game to add extra "f you" to it
• OU was in the bonus from the 15 minute mark in the second half... Without all the fouls, OSU wins by 30. The only thing that kept it within 30 was fouls.

Think about that.

Nobody will/can convince me Lon is the right coach for the job going forward.

I like Lon. I think he is a good coach. Or has had a good career. But he isn't meeting expectations at OU. The problem is, Joe C. had to beg Lon to take the job, so firing him probably isn't a real option.

We've had a few good years, but the program really hasn't had the sustained success it is capable of since Capel took over.

This program is sinking and is an embarrassment. The bottom half of the big12 absolutely sucks. And OU is right there with them sucking.

I'm with you. We are stuck in basketball purgatory. The results won't be any different next year either. Unfortunately, the only was to "shake up" things is new blood and a new voice. To expect better moving forward is nothing more than a hope strategy.

My "give a sh!t" meter has never been lower when it comes to OU hoops....sigh.

I care... Hire me for half of lons pay... I will hire Terry Evans, Bob Hoffman, and a juco head coach or two.

I will have them back to Sampson era success in two seasons and not even have to do any coaching... Hoffman and Evans will handle that. I'll just put the team together.

This is exactly why I always chuckle when experts on this board proclaim OU any kind of a “lock” with more than 5 games left and plenty of time to screw things up, like has been clockwork the last 4 years.

As far as your second to last sentence, it’s pretty amazing if no eyebrows were being raised at all with this abhorrent product with what he’s being paid. Does OU even have any basketball boosters? If so, they have a ridiculously high pain tolerance..

It's time to move on. I appreciate everything Lon has done but the program is dying a slow death. There isn't a Trae or Buddy walking through the door any time soon. Get younger, someone who can recruit. I want Bijan and Phipps to do good but neither are going to propel OU to where they should be.

It's sad to admit, but I'm sort of hoping for OU to miss the tourney. Hopefully that'll force Lon into retirement. Maybe I'm just pissed. Today was about as bad a loss as I can remember in my 25-30 years of watching OU basketball.

That's the issue with this roster. Asking Manek and Doolittle to guard other team's bigs is never going to work and is magnified if Manek and Doolittle can't score the ball offensively.

It's a good match-up on one end and a bad one on the other.

OU needs a complete reset of the program. We need a new 8000-9000 seat basketball only arena and we need a young, energetic coaching staff that can recruit the best talent possible. We need to invest in the program. We’re allegedly making big money in the big12 now, so use some of it on the basketball program. If we have any basketball booster at all, they need to invest in a new arena and a new coaching staff.

Either that, or cut off all funding to the program. No sense in paying $4 mil per year for this ****ty result year after year. If we’re not committed to winning in basketball, then divert that money to the football program and stop wasting money.

We should either try to build a championship basketball program or not. Either invest the money or pull it all out. Stop lying about caring and either go all in on basketball or stop wasting money on bad investments.

Either we care about basketball or we don’t. Your move Joe C (if you’re even paying attention).

Calling for Kruger to be fired is pointless. I wanted him gone 2 years ago. OU will probably continue to be good enough that his supporters will scoff at firing a "hall of fame" coach. Not bad enough to fire, not good enough to be relevant or interesting. Basketball hell.

I'll never understand fans being okay with mediocrity.
