OU vs texas 1:00pm CST on ESPN+

Just a couple rebounds too many. Offense glass killed us.

Texas beat Gonzaga 30 for some context. They are good.

Villanova isn’t good. Sam Houston isn’t good, despite their record. Today is was the offensive glass, other games it is turnovers or missed layups. Unfortunately, it’s always something in close games.

They were right there with them or leading all game. Too many possessions where the Horns had too many looks ended up being costly.

Yes but we had several scoring droughts. We pull ahead by 8 or 10 and it doesn’t come down to the last couple of possessions.

Tired of the excuses. We have to start winning these games. Playing good teams close isn’t good enough.

Tanner’s silly fouls that limits his production is now a pattern in every game. Hanging his head and looking sad does nothing to change that.

The solution is simple: Stop making silly fouls!

His 1st bothered me the most, 23 ft from the goal.

More like 30 feet. And he commits that foul seemingly every game, usually in the first few minutes. When you commit a bonehead foul like that, you put yourself in a vulnerable position, which means you can’t afford to have any 50-50 calls go against you the rest of the way. It’s not something a guy with his experience should do.

I was there. Good crowd, good energy. Got pretty loud and fans were into the game.

Team played hard. No issue at all with effort. Thought we really scrapped on D and at least tried to move the ball on offense.

But as others have said, at some point, you have to win these games. If we will just shrug off every well played loss to a good team, we will be shrugging off 9 or 10 more of these and we will likely be in the NIT again. Disappointing day despite the quality effort.

No shame in Losing by one point against a top 10 team. Unfortunately, we seem to lose all of these close games. If we don’t figure out a way to win these games, we’ll be 0-4 to start conference play and miss the tourney.

Definitely no shame in losing one close game to a top 10 team, but as you suggest, there is something to fret about when you lose a million straight. Other than Baylor in the conference tourney, I’m struggling to come up with any close games we have won against the better teams on our schedule. Both KU games last year, Texas multiple times, Tech in KC, Baylor, etc.

Realistically, 1-3 is our best case scenario to start league play. KU is an automatic loss and I seriously doubt we will win both games this coming week.

i was there.....I'mma agree with that for sure. both sides.

UT got a lotta 2nd shot clocks and sometimes 3rd.

Texas has some freakish athletes. We have some pretty good D-1 players playing hard.

part of freaky athlete thing is they get a lot of loose balls.....long rebounds. hands. never really out the spot to get it.

Like the cheez-it bowl, matched against a better opponent i like where we are headed.

but proof is in the pudding on both counts.
