That's very disappointing -- any word on why he's leaving?
Look at their facilities. Supposedly that's where usta is located too

LOL. I guess I should clarify. When I said no other teams hit like ULL, I wasn't referring to batting average. I was talking about ULL's ability to beat a good pitcher with raw power. When those big boppers start getting their timing worked out, they can score runs in bunches and they can do it very quickly and against a good pitcher.
Our Sooners are a much better team, overall, than ULL. Personally, I believe OU will be the best team at the CWS. But I'm glad we won't have to face those bashers of ULL again and I think the Sooners will have an easier time beating teams like Auburn, Georgia, etc.
La-Lafayette has some strong girls who hit home runs with raw power. They aren't suited to the running game. They play decent, but not superlative defense. Their best defensive player has the ability to stop anything, but the judgement to throw it away when she should hold it. A team that can beat you by simply hitting a pop up that carries 220 feet can score in a hurry. You have to have good control to keep them from getting good pitches. It is very unlikely that a good team will be beaten by their getting four hits in a row. A walk, an error, and a three-run home run is more likely. Elkins is Chamberlain-like.

They are a lot of fun to watch. Last night's 7-6 game was a nail biter. I just wish they had a little more pitching depth. They need someone besides Paige Parker in the World Series.
Bigger draw than UCF itself.
OU M Tennis >>>>>>> UCF M Tennis. The facility and impact on youth tennis in Florida was the draw.

If Paige is on her "A" the Sooners have a chance despite having only one ace as a starting pitcher. The key is staying in the winners bracket. OU opens Thursday PM against Alabama. Should they win they would probably play Michigan on Friday. Beat Michigan and they are off Saturday while the winner of he loser's bracket is determined. They would then play the loser's bracket winner on Sunday.
The Sunday game would be against a team that had already played 3 games and OU having played only two games plus coming off of a days rest. Win the first game Sunday and you are in the championship round with Paige having thrown only 3 games in 4 days. That is more than doable.
Were OU or Michigan to make the championship round both would be big favorites over #4 Auburn, #8 FSU, #12 UCLA or #16 Georgia especially if the winner of that half of the bracket had one loss and had played 5 games getting to the championship.
Move to the loser's bracket and our chances are almost less than slim with the pitching that is behind Parker.
my point was tennis in florida > than Oklahoma overall...not just the OU vs UCF
Great win by OU in the opening round of the WCSC tonight against Alabama. The score was tied 0-0 at the end of the 7th inning, but a three run walk-off home run by one of OU's super freshmen, Shay Knighten, gave the Sooners the victor in a very tough pitching duel between Paige Parker and the Tide's Alexis Osorio. The Sooners will play the winner of the game on now between Michigan and LSU tomorrow night.
Oh, with that victory, OU's win streak now stands at 28 straight.
the team is very young...should be in the same spot the next 2 years...
the days of the west coast dominating the WCWS is over...going to catch the game tonight.
Agreed. With 8 freshmen and 4 sophomore on the roster, there's a better than even chance this team will be better the next two years.
Three freshmen and a sophomore start on the infield, yet they lead the nation in defense. Several players are more than capable of hitting the ball over the fence, as Knighten proved in last night's game. But, that's not what this team is about. They generate offense by hitting the ball as hard as they can on the ground and in holes, to force their opponent to play defense. If that means a .400 hitter needs to lay down a bunt to move a teammate over, that's what they'll do.
Every player in the lineup is averaging over .300 hitting, so there are no easy outs from the one through the nine spot. Michigan will be a tough match up in tonight's game. As a side note, Sydney Romero's older sister, Sierra, an All-American and one of the best players in the country plays for the Wolverines.
