This has been a fantastic nonconference for our resume. 5 wins away from home including a marquee win against Nova and three other wins against Tourney teams (Hawaii won't be able to make it, but they are a tourney level team).

8 of our 11 games against "name" or big conference teams. Only three cupcakes, and one of those cupcakes won by 22 @ St Johns.

Once those teams get into conference, our resume's only going to get better. Harvard, Nova, Memphis, Creighton, and Hawaii will end the year at the top of their conferences (Nova and Harvard could win theirs). Wisconsin's SOS is going to move them way up, and they will win some games in the big 10.

As for the computer polls that mean something, we currently sit at:

4 in the RPI
2 in Ken Pom
1 in Jeff Sagarin
2 in ESPN's BPI

Now we've got to go out and handle business in the Big 12. Finish top 2, and we'll get a 2 seed. Win it, and we're a 1.

I think a top 2 finish with a couple of conference losses is good enough for a #1 seed.

A couple of thoughts. Harvard looks to be improving after a bad start. They played KU and us tough. I think they are the favorite in the Ivy league and that win can look pretty good come March. I think Nova finishes no better than 3rd behind Xavier and Butler in a "stronger than usual" Big East this year. Although, that is still a really good win for us on a neutral court. I'm hoping Hawaii can beat out UC-Irvine for the Big West title....I believe that win has the most potential to get better and better as the year goes on. The Creighton win is meh....they just don't have a very good profile, but I'm hoping they can jump in (and stay in) the top 100 rpi. Wisconsin is down this year and doesn't have the players to really compete in the Big 10. They will likely be a bottom-half team in that conference, but like Creighton, I'm hoping that they can stay in the top 100 of the rpi.

It will be interesting to see how it looks at the end of the year. OU definitely played legitimate names.

It's going to look very good when all is said and done. Harvard and Hawaii are solid teams who could play themselves into the tournament and we'll have the wins over Memphis, Wisconsin, and Villanova + the Big 12 schedule.

If we win the Big 12 regular season, I think we're a #1 and we could also be a #1 if we tie KU or finish a close 2nd. Clearly, we're set up, barring any major injuries, to be at least a #2 seed and we've got the conference season to play ourselves into a #1.

Hawaii's in trouble with the NCAA, aren't they? I think they're barred from the tourney this season.
