Pac 16 Basketball Scheduling?

All speculation. ESPN has never wanted anything to do with the Pac-10.
If the Pac-16 cared about basketball coverage they'd be looking at KU. It's all about football and TV sets for it's on cable network. The interesting scenario is if the Pac-whatever is going to let UT pursue their own cable TV network like they want to.

You can't keep pretending that adding the new teams doesn't drastically change things. It doesn't matter whether ESPN had interest in the past. That is completely irrelevant, when talking about the new conference. And why would the new conference allow Texas to have it's own network? That would completely defeat the purpose of adding the new division. Do you ever actually read what you write before you post?

That is why I said it will be interesting to see what happens with that. Do you ever read posts? There are multiple reports that Texas wants to start their own network. They could do that in the Big 12. They probably couldn't in the Pac-16.
Since you are so smart how come Texas hasn't already left for the Pac-16?
I'm not making this stuff up.

The Longhorn Network and Pac-16 are mutually exclusive. I have no idea why Texas hasn't already moved to the Pac-16, but my guess would be that they would rather stay in the Big-XII. The have more control in the Big-XII and could, potentially, start their own network along with a renegotiated TV contract.

You need to keep track of what points you are arguing with which posters. My only point is that you can't use the Pac-10's past relationship with ESPN/ABC to predict what would happen with a revamped conference. I do not understand what a Longhorn network that would only be possible in a revamped Big XII has to do with a potential TV deal in a non-existent new conference.

Where did you say that? Every post in this thread is basically saying that ESPN wants nothing to do with the Pac-10 and implying that that would be the case for the proposed Pac-16.

I know. That's why I said it would be an interesting scenario. The Pac 16 may not happen without Texas and Texas may not do it because they won't let them have the Longhorn Network.

Absolutely. And that's what I think will happen. And that will be both awesome for the conference and make for some fun here.

They announced last week that it would be Tuesday at the earliest when this is announced. Now the state leg. of Texas is trying to get involved and not have T&M and Tx break up but I don't see that working.
