What does Pledger have to do to convince non-believers that he is the real deal this season? He scored 31 points on 10 of 13 shooting from the field (4 of 5 from three) and went a perfect 7 of 7 from the free throw line. And, in his spare time he played solid D, pulled down 10 rebounds and had 2 steals.

That's the kind of performance all-conference players are measured by. Not saying Steven is there yet. But if he continues to play at that level, he deserves to be among those considered for the honor.

If I'm not President of the Steve Pledger Club, I'm certainly no worse than Vice President. :)

He has been amazing this year, and even exceeded my expectations for him. And I had HIGH expectations for him. Great to see.

There are a few here who are so bent on being right, they probably are secretly watching every game hoping he will have a bad one. If and when he does, you will see them out in full force. Until then, I will keep enjoying his maturation/improvement, and I will keep crediting you with being his biggest campaigner. Nice call brother!!!! :):)

Don't understand why people have been down on Steve. I've liked him every since Coach Capel recruited him. He has improved his game by working hard. That's all you can ask. What's scary is that he has the potential to do even more. BOOMER SOONER BABY!!!

He's by far been the most impressive player this year. Guy is going Hollis Price on us. Playing with great confidence & swagger and showing he has all the goods. Creates his own shot at will. Plays physical. Doing it all.

The question is how many extra games will we win due to Newell transferring? We are better with Pledger/Neal playing his minutes.

I'll be happy to share the president's podium with you. We have been two of Steven's biggest fans and supporters, even when he was not nearly as consistent as he has been this year.

I get why a few fans are reluctant to jump on board. But anyone can see that Steven is not the player he has been in the past two years. He is a complete player now, on both ends of the floor. You can just see his confidence growing with every game.

I've been around long enough to know that what jmizzy said is true. One bad game and the naysayers will come out in droves. But for now, I just want the kid to get the recognition he deserves. I shudder to think about where this team would be without him!

I will add that a few of us knew he could be a very good player after a few flashes last yr. The game he had at ISU was not something flukes pull off. The kid can shoot, and now he is showing hard work/confidence/and a better system all add up to more success. I expected alot out of him, but he has surpassed all of my expectations until now....:clap:clap:clap

Pledger's certainly exceeded my expectations, and I couldn't be happier about it.

But who in the world is talking him down? I've missed those posts.

Lots of calling out of other posters going on on the board tonight. I kind of wish we could just celebrate the win.

Been great all season long and has developed into a guy we can count on to show up every game. He even added a little post game to his lethal outside stroke, im loving it

The scary part of what you said is that it's probably true. Those who thought Newell was going to be a better player are having to come to grips that their prediction was off the mark...as if anyone gives a rat's behind. As a Dallas Cowboys fan, I thought they "wasted" a 3rd round pick on Demarco Murray who would probably average 2 yards a carry. It never actually dawned on me to root against him so that I could be right on an internet message board.

Pledge is the man!

No doubt. Ada and WT were about spot on about how they thought he would play, and how important his contributions would be to this team. They both defended him when many thought he couldn't play at this level.....

He has done wonders!!!! :OUbball-logo:

I'm on board. He looks a lot more aggressive. In the past he seemed to settle for 3s. Now he drives and looks in control.

I've been impressed with his post-up game. I honestly didn't think he was that type of player. He's been crazy good this year!

I totally agree with this post. I was at the game tonight and was thinking, with the way he is playing this year, how many players in the Big 12 can we say without hesitation are better than Pledger right now???

The first guy that comes to mind is Perry Jones at Baylor. After that, I can't name 5 guys that are better right now than Pledger. Last year between KU/Texas/KSU there were at least 5 players that were better than Pledger. But all those guys are gone.
